A seller buydownis where a contribution is offer as an incentive to the buyer from seller, just to buy down buyers interest rate! The buyer will secure a lower rate, resulting in a lower monthly payment.

In Real Estate market, historically outside of the housing crisis of 2008, PRICES HAVE APPRICIATED IN 4 OF THE THER 5 RECESSIONS.
This is not 2008, it's important to remember that this time around is much different. we have lower inventory, record home equity, more qualified buyers and accurate appraisals.

The seller buydown could be right for you?

With this high interest rates, we can create a win-win situation for both buyer and seller. The buyer can now make a Full Price Offer and use seller's contribution to buy down their interest rate, resulting in a saving of $163 (on 960K loan amount ) on their monthly payment and $117,535 in interest over the life of the loan because of lower interest rate.

For the seller, by contributing $29K to buy down the buyer's interest rate, the seller now gets their Full asking price and will net $18,050 more than if they were to lower their price by $50,000.
