So…I saw a veryyy misleading…and honestly disturbing post about Medicare when I woke up and want to clear up done things. I’ll attach the picture, and want to explain:

If individuals work with an Independent Licensed Agent like myself that actually cares and takes pride in helping each individual as a person, I can help them find a plan based on their individual needs and can explain every detail to them. The problem is if they call the 800 numbers on the tv and end up talking to people in call centers, they don’t take the time to do all of that and are usually just pushing one carrier’s plan. I represent all of the major carriers, so my goal is to get each individual the most inclusive plan for them.

Individuals that only have Medicare Part A and Part B (or traditional Medicare,) are responsible for a straight 20% of their medical costs when it comes to doctors and doctor care because Medicare pays a straight 80%. That leaves a HUGE gap and unlimited out of pocket expenses. Traditional Medicare is ONLY medical and hospitalization.

Most Medicare Advantage plans allow individuals to get care with copays which LOWERS their out of pocket expenses. They include vision, dental, hearing, AND prescription coverage and MANY are at no additional cost, therefore don’t reduce their social security payments. Also, many of the Medicare Advantage plans DO NOT require referrals, it all depends on which plans are available in the individual’s zip code. I’d love to answer any questions anyone may have and if they don’t like the plan they’re on, I’d love to help them find a plan that fits their needs.
