Josie and Zena. Two of our rescue blessings. Zena gave birth to 13 babies a week after coming to us. Josie is an in**ed baby who lost one leg to surgery surgery then her other knee collapsed. Rescue has been the most rewarding heartbreak we’ve ever had. Our rescue may only go on to support babies like Josie but oh the 💕 LOVE in those faces.

This one was a group effort. A house fire left these two badly burned. A dedicated team got them out of the danger zone, an individual reached out, we fostered, and the went up north where they were adopted together. THAT’S A VILLAGE OF LOVE ❤️

The ol’ PURPLE SCOOBY DOO VAN is officially retired! She has gone on to be with a new friend who now calls her the PURPLE PEOPLE EATER!!!! Jasper folks, SMILE when you see her go by. Always know….when you PAY IT FORWARD… God will send blessings over and above anything you can do! I can’t wait to pass her by and 😊 SMILE

This little crew of ours will be in New York in a couple of weeks. Leaving behind the stress of Walker County. No chains, no freezing outside without adequate shelter, no eating rocks and trash to fill the hole in their tummies 🥹the best is yet to comes babies…the best is yet to come 🥹

Hey folks! This is going to be Robin speaking. My fantastic partner Melody usually does the bulk of our posts but she has asked me to do this one.

I am sure you have been hearing rumors of us shutting down. As of 12-13-24 Forgotten Tails Rescue as you know it will no longer be. In 8yrs we have rescued upwards of 8000 dogs and puppies. When you break that down to a small group of dedicated Forster’s, board members, and supporters THAT’S ALOT!!!

During Covid we couldn’t get enough dogs and puppies to fill the demand. We were pulling from the humane society and other rescues just to supply the need. POST COVID that has come to a screeching halt. So many people adopted when they were home during that time frame. When life got back to “normal” ( the new normal ) no one needed or wanted a new commitment.

Since the economy has been wrecked (I don’t care what your president has said) and people can’t afford the luxury of another family member. Everyone is struggling. The humane societies are packed, the rescues are full, all my friends have multiple dogs just to help the burden.
It’s everywhere.

If you average Melody and my age we are 59🤣🤣🤣 one of us is alittle older and the other alittle younger. We can’t do what we once did. Our hearts desire is to continue to help with the broken, the abandoned, and the homeless but not sure exactly how at this time.😔

We are going to start with a well deserved break to restore our souls and rest our backs. At this time we have about 30 adults and 15 puppies in our care. It is our desire to place each and everyone before hanging up our leashes. I am expecting to NOT meet our goal of 12-13-24. This date is significant because I will have been rescuing, nurturing, helping, and loving animals on a personal and professional level for 25yrs. Anyone who knows me, knows my heart ❤️!

We will start posting some of our rescues on our page in the days to follow. All of our animals come up to date on vaccinations, current on heartworm preventative, flea and tick prevention, and spayed/neutered. If you can see it in your heart to add one to your pack, open your heart to a dog in need, or know someone that might be looking for that special dog, PLEASE SHARE OUR POSTS WITH THEM!!!!

This is our heart’s desire! We will still be having fund raisers and asking for donation as the need never ends. We still have babies to take care of and that is becoming harder and harder.
