DID YOU KNOW?
That what kids eat in childhood can have long term effects on teeth, gum, and overall health?
In its second year, CFHE’s Eating Better Together program partnered with Essex County dentist and the Department of Health’s Oral Hygiene Division to advance kids’ oral health through healthful nutrition, education, and supportive resources.
Our program supported low income families in learning about healthy, nutritious foods to support oral and holistic health by providing free healthy meals, nutrition education, and resources to children and families building on their nutrition counseling sessions with their dental provider.

Food is a human right. Health is a human right. We fight for both.
With the end of the pandemic era, emergency safety nets providing extra food and living assistance for Americans, millions are experiencing hardship, confusion, and uncertainty. Since 2020, CFHE has been on the frontlines, supporting the needs of chronically ill Americans, the unhoused, and children/families living in poverty through our food assistance and case management services.
Our Ujamaa Cafe fridges are a lifesaving, data informed program meeting the needs of hundreds in New Jersey and Philadelphia. Anyone who needs food, especially healthy, culturally, and nutritionally diverse food options, deserves access to what they need regardless of their ability to pay. So we have launched the Ujamaa Cafe Fridge Fund. This fund is intended to sustain and expand the resources available through our Ujamaa Cafe fridges to help people most in need of healthful nutrition.
Help us ensure Americans residing in food deserts and low food access locations have access to affordable, healthful nutrition for their healthcare and food security by donating to the Ujamaa Cafe Fridge Fund. Your donation will help grow the fund at this critically important moment.
