WFMU is broadcasting live from Gonerfest from Sept. 27-29!
Every year the fall kicks off in big style down Memphis way when the ginchy record label Goner holds its annual festival of rockist tendencies, Gonerfest. Gonerfest gets legal this year with its 21st edition, and to celebrate, the Goner folks have invited WFMU along to broadcast from the festival. A whole flock of WFMU DJs will be there to guide you through the action! To tweak a line by a certain singer from Memphis, “Let’s get real, real GONER for a change!”

After Work Thursdays: Meet Up and Music Trivia with DJ Joe McGasko on Thursday, September 19th
Join us on Thursday, Sept 19 at 7:00 pm at WFMU Radio’s Monty Hall for Music Trivia Night. Consider yourself a graduate of the College of Musical Knowledge? Come and see how you stack up at WFMU’s first meet-and-greet music trivia night. Bring a team or we’ll form one for you for six rounds of trivia fun. Your quizmaster for the evening will be DJ Joe McGasko, who provides the music trivia quiz every Tuesday morning on “Wake with Clay Pigeon.” He’ll make you work for it, but there will be prizes for the winners.

Monty Hall is located at 43 Montgomery Street in downtown Jersey City, mere steps from the Exchange Place PATH station. A large selection of vinyl albums, CDs, and swag will be available for purchase.

Oneida will be playing live on Burn It Down! w/ Nate K. in the band's first visit to the station since 2006, and discussing its recently released LP, Expensive Air.

Just when I thought I was done with special shows and guests I went and scheduled TWO special guests for my show tomorrow (Wednesday) on WFMU!
First: At 1pm (EDT), Peter Holsapple will call in for a quick chat about the upcoming The dB's shows this weekend — particularly the one on Sunday at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City — and the reissues of the first two dB’s albums on Propeller Sound Recordings.
Second: At 1:30pm, Dave Hill (and maybe Luci?) will call in for a quick chat about his upcoming show at SoHo Playhouse, ‘Dave Hill: Caveman in a Spaceship.’ The show opens this Monday the 16th, and runs on Mondays and Fridays through Oct. 11.
