Experiencing pregnancy can be a beautiful journey, but it's important to acknowledge that it also comes with its challenges. It's completely normal to feel a range of emotions during this time, and sometimes those emotions can include depression and anxiety. You are not alone in this, and there are steps you can take to manage these feelings.
First, understand that your feelings are valid. Hormonal changes, physical discomfort, and the anticipation of becoming a parent can all contribute to emotional ups and downs. It's crucial to talk about your feelings with someone you trust, whether it's a partner, friend, or family member. Sharing your experiences can provide emotional relief and support.
If you find that your feelings of depression or anxiety are persistent or overwhelming, consider reaching out to a healthcare professional. They can offer guidance, support, and possible treatments that are safe during pregnancy. Therapy or counseling can provide a safe space to explore your emotions and develop coping strategies.
Self-care is incredibly important during this time. Make time for activities that make you feel good, whether it's gentle exercise, reading, or spending time in nature. Eating a balanced diet and maintaining a routine can also help stabilize your mood.
Remember, taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health during pregnancy. You deserve to feel supported and cared for during this special time.
What has helped you through those times with bad thought or postpartum depression?
Do you have a favorite song that helps you feel less alone?
Our founder Kristina Dulaney attended the Rachel Platten Candlelight Concerts by Fever in Brooklyn, NY this week, and every word of resonated deeply with her. As a fellow survivor of maternal mental health challenges, Rachel’s journey and music have been a source of strength for Kristina and countless other women. Rachel's new songs are a raw and honest portrayal of the struggles many mothers face.
It’s crucial to remember that maternal mental health issues during and after pregnancy are more common than often realized. In fact, approximately 1 in 5 women experience mental health challenges during this time.
Let’s continue to share our stories and support
one another. Together, we can break the silence and build a community of strength and resilience. If you’re struggling, please reach out for help. You are not alone.

This PPP Lunch & Learn starts soon!
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we want to honor the extraordinary beauty of motherhood in all its forms. Today, we celebrate not just the picture-perfect moments but also the raw, imperfect, and beautifully messy aspects that make it so uniquely special.
To all mothers who have struggled, we want to acknowledge your strength, resilience, and unwavering love. We celebrate the moments of laughter and joy, as well as the moments of doubt and uncertainty. We recognize the sacrifices you make, the challenges you overcome, and the unconditional love you pour into your children.
We celebrate the imperfect moments—the spilled milk, the forgotten school projects, the missed bedtime stories—because they are a testament to motherhood's real, unfiltered nature. In these imperfections, we find the true beauty of your love and dedication.
To the mothers who may feel imperfect, know that your imperfections are what make you beautifully human. Your ability to embrace imperfection, learn from mistakes, and continue to love unconditionally is a testament to your strength and resilience. Your love, in all its imperfections, is a force that shapes the world in ways both seen and unseen.
To all the moms without babies in their arms, your love for your child, the memories you hold dear, and the enduring bond you share transcend time and space. Your role as a mother is not defined by physical presence alone but by the love that continues to live in your heart and the lives you have touched.
As you navigate this day, please know that your feelings are valid and your grief is seen and understood. Your strength in the face of loss is a testament to the depth of your love and the resilience of your spirit.
May this day be a gentle reminder of the love you have given and the love that surrounds you. You are not alone, and your journey as a mother is cherished and honored.
