We are approaching the end of Advocacy April, but there are more stories to tell! Access to education can be a powerful and transformative experience for adult learners, and adult learners often struggle to ask for help. The Learning Connection offers both the know-how and the encouragement to help adults reach their educational goals. If you are curious about earning your GED or building workplace skills, give us a call and we can help!
This Advocacy April, discover a powerful way to give back: become a volunteer tutor!
Join forces with local literacy organizations (like us!) that are making a significant impact by helping adults learn English, earn a GED, and upskill in so many other ways.
Your time and skills can open doors to new opportunities for learners and strengthen our community.
Why Volunteer?
👥 Direct Impact: As a volunteer tutor, you provide personalized support that can transform an adult learner's life, boosting their confidence and skills in English, essential for both personal and professional growth.
🌐 Community Strength: By improving literacy, you help build a more inclusive and dynamic community. Literate adults are more likely to engage in their children's education and participate actively in society.
🤝 Personal Growth: Volunteering isn't just about giving; it's also about growing.
💫 Develop new skills, meet people from diverse backgrounds and gain the fulfillment that comes from making a real difference.
Join a movement that empowers adults, enriches communities, and bridges cultural divides. Be a part of the solution. Volunteer today and help someone take a significant step toward a brighter future.

Check out these facts on Adult Ed:
- 43 million working-age Americans possess low literacy skills required to succeed in the workforce and achieve economic self-sufficiency

We hope you will join us in sounding the alarm to raise awareness of the importance of adult education and how it benefits adult learners their families, and communities.
Let’s advocate for support and additional growth opportunities for adult education!
It's giving day for the University of Alaska Southeast and we wanted to share some info about the UAS Michael Ciri and Jeri Cary Alaska GED Achiever Challenge-- an amazing opportunity for students who have earned their GED!
The UAS Alaska GED Achiever Scholarship is a fund that provides financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to students at UAS who have passed the General Equivalency Development (GED) test, earning an alternative high school equivalent diploma.
