Treatment by a Board-Certified Specialist

Interventional Radiology is the only specialty dedicated to minimally-invasive procedures using ultrasound guidance. With ultrasound technology being used at every step of the treatment process, from the diagnosis, treatment and the follow-up, the board-certified Interventional Radiologist at Medicus Vein Care, Steven Tidwell, M.D., performs every ultrasound with the vein procedures.

Interventional Radiologists are specifically trained in ultrasound imaging during their four-year residency training program. Dr. Steven Tidwell’s post-graduate fellowship in vascular and interventional procedures allowed him to expand his expertise with the vascular system and its irregularities, and he combines those skills to accurately diagnose and treat venous insufficiency. An ultrasound technologist does not have this training, or diagnostic ability.

With all of the varicose vein treatment modalities utilzing every skill of an Interventional Radiologist (Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), Clarivein® and the latest VenaSeal™), you know you’re receiving treatment by a specialist.
