CJE was honored to testify at yesterday's marathon mtg in Connecticut to pass Sen. Alex Kasser's coercive control bill, SB 1060. What a marathon hearing it was- our Director signed off after 11 hours and it was still going!!! Don't know how our friends in CT handle such long hearings on a regular basis! If it passes, CT will become the 3rd state in the US to add coercive control to the definition of domestic violence, and most importantly, to include it in custody cases and not just in criminal court. Congrats to all of the survivors who spoke, including actress Evan Rachel Wood, as it takes a lot of courage to speak publicly about one's abuse.
