Don’t miss the Substance Abuse and the Dangers of Fentanyl in Kansas City seminar on August 27 at 7 p.m. in Borromeo Hall. Everyone is invited, and admission is free.

Loree Parcells and Linda Conners (with Signature Psychiatric Hospital) will reveal the critical prevalence of substance abuse in our community and state. They will discuss the alarming prevalence of fentanyl and the dire effect it has had on our community.

You will learn how fentanyl is accessed, how it is used, and how Narcan® saves lives. North Kansas City Hospital will provide Narcan®, free of charge, with instructions for everyone in attendance. This seminar is free of charge, and everyone is welcome.

6-year-old Charlie Fry is a sweet and innocent boy who suffers from a rare disease called SLC6A1, which causes him to have seizures, autism, anxiety, OCD, behavioral issues, ADHD, and cognitive delays. We are inching closer to developing a life-changing treatment that will ultimately cure this disease and improve his quality of life. We cannot do this without your support and participation in events like this annual lemonade stand.

Everyone is welcome to attend First Friday Adoration on August 2 in the Church (open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) as their schedule permits. **Please be sure to sign the attendance sheet (located on the podium at the Church entrance).

The Flame of Love Rosary Ministry will pray the Rosary after 9 a.m. Mass before Adoration begins. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join them.

Polo Club Ministry, the Saint Charles parents of little ones, will host a July Get-Together on July 7th (4-6 p.m.) in the back area of Borromeo Academy. Join the fun as they offer a cookout and water play for the kids. Please bring your own snacks.

June 14 Is Flag Day

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress took a break from writing the Articles of Confederation and passed a resolution stating that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

Grab some breakfast, enjoy the fellowship, and make some new friends! Freewill donations are accepted. This month’s Breakfast will be hosted by the Saint Charles Borromeo Parish Staff.

This weekend, especially on Monday, May 27, we remember and honor the brave souls who sacrificed for our freedom. May their courage inspire us to live with purpose and gratitude. We express eternal gratitude for the bravery of the fallen American soldiers.

On this Day, we pray for those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We ask God to bless the families of our fallen troops and fill their homes and lives with strength and peace.
