Self Defense workshop as part of our middle school and high school adolescent program this summer Farm School KC! Anatomy, physics and respect are discussed within this workshop as well.

The students’ microeconomies continue to impress us; the past couple of weeks some students have been making candles and preparing to start serving coffee! If you missed out buying candles and eggs at the last microeconomy, look out for us at the next Communication Gathering! And The Brew Dudes are rumored to be there too selling coffee👀☕️

Support our PTO and get your volunteer hours in! We need 3-5 parent and student volunteers to help serve food and bus tables on February 26th.

Our next PTO Restaurant Night is February 26th!! Stop by Culvers on 64th street from 5pm to 8pm to support our PTO. No code necessary!! 10% of all orders during that time frame will go towards our school.

The students are baking some yummy stuff for the showcase this Friday! COme and get yourself a cozy little treat!

On Wednesdays students have time to engage in creative expression to explore new mediums and styles, and practice their techniques. Today some students are testing their creativity by drawing whatever a random word generator spits out! Some of the words were shortage, shell, squeeze and partnership.

Today in ELA, the middle schoolers did a snowball short story writing exercise. One student establishes the POV and characters, then they ball up their paper and throw them across the room to randomly redistribute the papers. The next student establishes the setting and plot, and the third student fills out the rest of the story. These students just spent a full 45 minutes writing and had fun with it!
Come to the showcase on Dec. 15th to read these short stories!

Thanks to our Montessori adolescent trained guides. We are lucky to have them.

Donate your books and puzzles for the annual book sale at CPMS until the 1st! And we hope to see you all doing some Christmas shopping on the 7th, 3-5 pm, at the sale!

Our very own Xavier Holt and CeCe Holt are at the in LA this week, and Xavier competed in a live competition where he drew had to draw 12 people in 30 minutes. We are so proud of X!

Many of our students are participating in NaNoWriMo aka National Novel Writing Month this November. So many great stories are coming to life at FSKC! Comment and tell us if you've ever done and what your story was about.

Our students get 3 math lessons a week, where they are introduced to concepts and discuss their function and use them in practice with the Guide. Then they have several work cycles throughout the week to work independently or with their peers on their follow up work.
