Today we pay tribute to the wounded or killed in combat while serving this great nation. MVS remembers and supports these KSU students who are Purple Heart recipients. We have student soldiers who were wounded in battle or killed while in the line of duty during combat. Army 1st Lt. Jonathan "JP" Walsh was a KSU student who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Kennesaw State is one of six Universities recognized as a Purple Heart Designated University. In 2016, KSU was the first USG institute to earn the honor from the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Every day serves as a reminder that MVS is here to provide KSU Veterans and their families the support they need.

New opportunity alert! Submit your application for the KSU MVS Research & Program Assistant as a AmeriCorps VISTA. Responsibilities include researching policies, developing procedures and maintaining a comprehensive manual for MVS. This would include the implementation of research and data collection of KSU student retention, graduation and employment rates. Celebrating all our present and past KSU Veterans. According to the VA there are currently 2 million female Veterans in the US, Puerto Rico and Territories/Foreign. Women Veterans Day is a tribute to a groundbreaking day when women were acknowledged as essential to the war efforts and could serve in the armed forces. Thank you for your service! Remembering all the men and women who served this country with courage and bravery, but lost their lives during combat. KSU Alumni Lt. JP Walsh died in combat during Operation Enduring Freedom 10 years ago. As we remember and grieve with your family - let's take time today to reach out to those who have lost a loved one serving in the military and offer our support.
