Elder Abuse Awareness | Piedmont Triad Regional Council, NC According to the National Center on Elder Abuse, elder abuse is a term referring to any knowing, intentional, or negligent act by a caregiver or any other person that causes harm or a serious risk of harm to an older adult.
Older people are mistreated more often than we think due to
the lack of supports for older people in our communities. It
doesn’t have to be this way.
Get involved in creating a stronger
society that safeguards our communities and prevents abuse.
