Don't let the year end without giving Xtreme Hip Hop Step a try! The class will begin with a brief warm-up to get your body ready for the dance routine. The instructor will then break down the steps of the routine, making sure to explain each move clearly and demonstrate it at a slow pace. Once you've mastered the individual steps, you'll combine them into a full routine to dance to the music.

Registration for our Challenger Cheer opens TOMORROW! This program is intended for those with disabilities - all ages and all genders. It's a great way to get some exercise and have fun. Wake up and start your week with us at Beginner Morning Yoga. This class is a hatha style; this version of yoga places special emphasis on controlled breathing and posture. You will move your body slowly and deliberately into different poses that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness. It's that time of year, freezing temperatures and cold rain are on the horizon! 🌬 This means it is time to winterize some of our facilities and amenities.
🔹All drinking fountains, ornamental fountains and dog park fountains are non-operational.
🔹Majority of the restroom facilities will be closed as well. The only park restrooms that will remain open are those at Fourth of July Park, Harmon Park and Founders Park.

We are installing the steel beams and adding another layer of concrete flooring at our Kernersville Recreation + Event Center. Up next the parking lot will be graded and storm drainage installed. Progress never looked so good!

Did you see our Santa mailbox?!🎅 It's out at the Leo Burke Memorial Gazebo in Harmon Park. Join in the holiday fun and have your children write a letter to Santa Claus, and in a few weeks, they will receive a letter from him in return!

We have been receiving calls asking for an update on the skate park, and unfortunately the status is the same.

In late summer we closed the Skate Park due to the state of disrepair and the potential of park patrons getting injured. We deconstructed all elements to fully inspect each piece to know the scope of work needing to safely reopen the skate park. We have ordered the materials needed, but they are on back order so we are waiting for the shipment to be fulfilled. Therefore we are not able to provide a timeline of completion for the project.

We would also like to reiterate, we are repairing the skate park – we are not replacing it for something different. We ask for your continued patience with this process and we will happily provide a timeline when we confirm one. Thank you!
