Be alert of wildlife during and after the storm. If you see a wild animal, give it plenty of space. Animals may act defensive and aggressive – they have experienced a lot of stress throughout the storm. Do not attempt to rescue them during or immediately following the storm, as it could put the animal and yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. When clearing debris, always wear long pants, gloves, and closed-toe shoes and never reach your hand into brush piles or holes without first checking for snakes or other wildlife. Approach floodwaters with caution and do not go wading in them. Alligators, snakes, and other wildlife may be present. Although wildlife play an important role for the environment, your health and safety are the top priorities.

Residents are invited to attend a Rain Barrel Workshop on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Osceola County Extension Service office at 1921 Kissimmee Valley Lane, Kissimmee, Florida. This workshop is hosted in partnership with Toho Water Authority. Rain barrels are $25 each*. Attendance is mandatory to purchase a rain barrel; however, you may attend without buying one. Please make checks payable to Toho Water Authority. Write 'Rain Barrel Workshop 'July 14' on the subject line. Checks will be the only form of payment accepted.
Rain barrels are only available for purchase for *Toho Water Authority utility account holders.
*Advance registration is required.
Please bring a vehicle that can accommodate a 55-gallon barrel. All sales final.
