STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Donna Delahoussaye

Donna has been a nurse for 31 years, and has been with Dr. Sibley for 25 plus years!
If you’ve called after hours, you’ve talked to Donna. She is the emergency on call nurse for our office.

She graduated in 1993, in Marion, Va. and moved to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1995-1996 where she worked at WCH pediatrics and walk in clinic.
She knew when she was in kindergarten she wanted to be a nurse. She loves patient care, especially the pediatric population.
She has been married for 24 years, a mother of three children and 2 granddaughters.
She likes to scrapbook, watch movies and play with her grandchildren in her free time.

Summertime means enjoying the outdoors on wheels! Even if your child hates it, and complains, and says it’s too hot, it is SO important to make them wear helmets. It is much easier to fix broken bones than broken brains! 🚲

It’s so important to read to your kids. The best thing parents can do to encourage children to love books and reading is to read aloud to them! 📚 And they are never too young!

Air on the side of caution when it comes to drugs and alcohol. It is important to educate your children, especially older and adult children, on CDC updates concerning these substances.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Hannah Kay Buller. Today is Hannah’s last day with us. We will miss her! Join us in wishing her well as she pursues a career in nursing!!

Our medical assistant, Hannah Buller, graduated from Opelousas Catholic High School in 2015 and earned her bachelor degree in Kinesiology with a concentration of exercise science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2019. Hannah was born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana but lives in Lafayette with her fiance’, Matt, and his son, Rekker. Hannah has been a certified medical assistant since 2019 and has been with Dr. Sibley’s office since September of 2023. Hannah has always enjoyed the knowledge she has received from working in healthcare and being in this office inspires her to learn more and further her education. Along with her degree, she also has a license in phlebotomy. Hannah is planning on returning to school to earn her RN license and then eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. Some of Hannah’s favorite hobbies include reading a good book, being outdoors, camping with family, and traveling alongside Matt and Rekker.

Doing things as a family-eating meals, going on walks, riding bikes, playing games-can improve not only your child’s health, but yours as well! How do you live a healthy lifestyle? ☀️

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Katina Mitchell has been with Dr. Sibley since November 2002. She is reliable and enthusiastic in customer service. She provides excellent care and builds relationships between our office and the families we take care of. She enjoys a varied and busy workday. She also loves to travel and spend time with her husband and 3 children.

Using a recommended mosquito repellent is so important in our climate. Not only do mosquito bites make children miserable, some bites can cause serious illness.
When choosing a spray, keep these tips in mind:
- choose the lowest amount of DEET
- apply only to exposed skin, not under clothing
- choose low pressurized spray, sticks or lotions

*avoid putting spray on children’s hands to be sure they do not get it in their mouths or eyes
*avoid sunscreen with repellents. Sunscreen should be applied more often than repellent

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Emily Primeaux has been working in Dr. Sibley's office since September of 2023. She is a college student majoring in Human Development and Family Science. She enjoys babysitting on her free time, as well as going for a walk's in Moncus Park, and studying at coffee shops with friends on the weekends. Emily has said that she's always wanted to work at a front desk in a Doctors office, so when the opportunity arose, she was so excited to try it out! She loves working in this environment when I'm not at school, and looks forward to what's to come!
