On September 9, members of our branch attended the September Breakfast Fundraiser hosted by the Murrieta-Temecula Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. At the event, local businessman and Branch Membership Chairperson Dr. Charles Washington was honored with a Community Hero Award presented by Dr. Parker. Congratulations, Dr. Washington!
At a recent branch meeting, two donations were presented to our Education Chair, Dr Shellie Dansby for the upcoming Education Event for students. Jonathan Reese of the Clarence Drewery Consistery #389 presented a check along with fellow Consistery member Dr Sylvester House who is also our branch Assistant Treasurer. Aurora Romos of Sam’s Club also presented a gift card toward the education event.

Attention all high school students: upcoming free education event in Lake Elsinore
Our hearts go out to the community of Jacksonville, Florida during this time of mourning for the racist act that took the lives of three Black Americans on the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington. We continue to stand for justice and equality for all Americans along with those who gathered to remember MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
We had a successful Youth Education Summit in partnership with California Family Life in Lake Elsinore. Dr. Shellie Dansby (pictured in center of group photos), our branch Youth Advisor, coordinated the event, and the turnout was great! We will be hosting future Youth Education Summits in coming months in other local communities.

A statement in celebration from our Branch History Chairperson Brenda Phillips: On June 30, 2022, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, received her Congressional and Judicial Swearing In as the Newest Member of the Highest Court of Our land, the Supreme Court, replacing Justice Stephen Breyer, retiring this same day, keeping the total Justices at Nine. Justice Brown Jackson, nominated by President Joseph Biden, is the first Black Women to serve on the Supreme Court in all its functioning years!

Looking back at the incredible Juneteenth Unity in the Community Event held at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium. We participated along with several organizations and music groups to bring unity and celebrate freedom on this historic day in the African American Community. Education Chair Dr Quinlan Strong successfully spearheaded the event as part of the Stand Up for Justice organization as well as representing our branch.
