Please hold and mark your calendars for, Tuesday January 18, 2022 from 4:20 pm – 5:30 pm (CST) for the virtual 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration event featuring feminist, writer and activist Angela Davis!
The 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration event will start promptly at 4:20 pm and will be moderated by Dr. Courtney Joseph, K. & H. Montgomery Assistant Professor of History and African American Studies and Chair of African American Studies. The zoom link for the 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be shared later this week via email. As a reminder please do not post Zoom links on social media or websites. The 2022 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration event is a private event only open for the Lake Forest College community.

- Soup and Stories – Latinx Heritage Month Edition: Thursday, September 30th, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm, Glen Rowan House
Soups and Stories has been a signature event of the OIR where we celebrate and uplift the voices of our campus community members while serving their favorite soup for everyone to share. In honor of Latinx Heritage Month we wanted to centralize and uplift the voices of our Latinx/Hispanic Faculty and Staff:
- Homecoming – Black Men’s Barbershop: Thursday, September 30th, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, Sports & Recreation Center Trophy Room
There will be a barber experienced in cutting Black and textured hair stationed there from 9am-9pm with a break from 3:30pm-5:30pm. The event is designed specifically for Black men on campus including faculty, staff and any alumni who might be on campus by then. You are all cordially invited to swing by and get a fresh cut as you enjoy some good music. Haircuts will be free of charge.
Happening NOW (1:30 PM CST): Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander Staff Panel. Do not miss the perspectives of Alison Lai, Residence Director, Yang Choe, Payroll Specialist, and Kyle Diep, Institutional Research Analyst.
Day 2 of Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Do not miss Soup and Stories at 12:30 PM CST to hear students' perspectives on What it Means to be Asian.

TODAY at 7:30 PM CST: City of Chicago Inspector General and Lake Forest College alumnus Joe Ferguson will give a Zoom presentation on police brutality and growing public efforts to reform American policing and curtail excessive use of force. As Inspector General in the nation's third-largest city, Ferguson has been deeply involved in high-profile efforts to reduce Chicago police misconduct.
