Celebrating Simchat Torah Thursday/Friday is going to be EPIC! I managed to get pics of some of the YUM Chinese Style food... There's always more! Sesame Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Lo Mein, fried rice, egg rolls, Frank's and Blanks, Pastrami bites, SO many salads.... Birthday Cake and lots of desserts! Plus DANCING!!! And fun stuff for all the kiddos!

With Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur behind us, we're excited to celebrate the next few holidays... Boy, do they come up fast! Sukkot is like a giant hug from G-d, and we're ready for it! (All events FREE for full time NMSU/Burrell Students)

Am Yisrael Chai. We are an eternal people. An eternal people overcomes every adversity and adversary. That is the nature of eternity.

We are a miraculous people as well, and from our very beginning. When G-d promised a childless, elderly Abraham, that he and Sara would beget a son, and that through him all nations would be blessed, this was more than a blessing, it was a prophecy. A foretelling that the Jewish people would defy nature and the natural order. That our people would be a light on to the nations, and that no enemy or tyrant would ever be able to extinguish our light.

On this day, we pause to reflect, not only on our past, but on what lays before us, and on the part that each of us plays in that continuum. Indeed, Am Yisrael Chai is more than a statement of fact, it is a battle cry, a call to action!

May G-d Almighty avenge those who have fallen, and comfort the brokenhearted they left behind.
