This week's spotlight is a very important resource offered here at the university that we hope can be of support to those in need. This week we want to highlight The Care Center at UNLV. The Care Center offers confidential virtual support services, holistic healing workshops, campus education and awareness events to members of the UNLV, NSC, and CSN communities impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence, family violence, and/or stalking. They offer services such as:
Healing through Connections which is a program that offers holistic healing tools and collaborates with community healers to offer workshops, outdoor retreats, and digital resources.
The Care Advocate Training Institute which is an immersive training and professional development program that is designed to prepare students for the role of the confidential campus advocate: hold space for clients, ensure personal safety, identify needs and possible resources, create plans together, and educate peers.
We recognize how difficult this topic can be and hope that these resources can provide solace and support to those affected. For more information and resources, visit The Care Center at www.unlv.edu/carecenter or visit https://www.unlv.edu/studentwellness/health-center/crisis for crisis and emergency services.

Happy everyone! We missed you these past two weeks, but hope you all had a nice and relaxing spring break and are ready to take on the rest of the spring semester! This week's tip deals with talking to someone, whether it be a professional or close friend/relative. It's important to have someone you trust and can confide in with your personal struggles and who can potentially provide helpful insight or advice. Talking to someone about your mental health and day to day well-being can help you stay in good mental health, as well as process your thoughts and feelings better. If you are in need of someone to talk to, UNLV provides great mental health resources on campus, including Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). To schedule an appointment to talk to someone, call the Student Health Center at 702-895-3370, or you can visit their website at https://www.unlv.edu/caps for more information.

We are back yet again with another tip of the week. For this week, we encourage you all to try to develop and/or maintain a daily routine. Having a routine can help in times of stress and unpredictability. When you implement structure in your day, this can give you a better sense of control, as well as improve your focus, organization, and productivity. It's also more than just organizing your responsibilities throughout the day. This also gives you a chance to set aside time for self-care and ensure that your mind and body are also being tended to. Tell us some tasks you plan on adding to your daily routine this week in the comments!
