Our National Contract Bargaining Team is currently at the table with VA fighting to ensure we keep our Strong Contract. Let’s support them by wearing our Red every Wednesday until this is over. We are proud of our team.

It is performance evaluation time!!! Please know, your supervisor has 60 days after the end of the fiscal year to get your evals. done.. that means by Nov. 29th, you should have your eval done!!

FYI… until further notice, no one should be disciplined for not using the LEAF process to document your Covid Vaccine at the VA. Please know, AFGE did not complete its bargaining before the agency unilaterally implemented their policy. . If anyone is disciplined for not following the VA orders, please let us know. We encourage everyone to be safe, and believe in the vaccine, however, AFGE still has an obligation to complete bargaining.

Unions seek a new contract at SSA, press Biden to fire Trump holdovers -- FCW President Joe Biden reversed much of his predecessor's workforce agenda in the first days of his administration via executive order, but unions at the Social Security Administration are unhappy with the pace of implementation of new policies.

INVESTIGATIONS/FACT FINDINGS:

Whenever you are called in to do a fact finding/investigation, you have a right to request union representation.
If you are the subject of the investigation, which means they are asking questions to see if you will be disciplined, you have a right to request all the notes taken during that investigation once the fact finding is complete. If this is you, please reach out to the local union office for assistance.
