In the heart of Las Vegasā economy lies a group of workers often unseen but undeniably vital. These workers are highlighted in the Nevada Humanities exhibition, The Hidden Faces of Work: Behind Las Vegas' Non-Stop Economy.
This exhibition, supported by a grant from Nevada Humanities, features the visual storytelling of students enrolled in JOUR 214, a digital photography class at the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies. Led by associate professor Julian Kilker, the course was much more than simply mastering camera shutter speeds and image processing software.

The U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings of graduate and professional programs was released released April 9 2024. A total of 20 UNLV programs placed within the nationās top 100 in their fields. This includes the UNLV Greenspun College of Urban Affairs graduate programs in social work (ranked 83) and public affairs (ranked 89) which ranked within the top 100 in their discipline.

Emma Bloomfield, associate professor of communication studies, will present a talk on how storytelling is integral to science communication based on the 2024 book she authored, Science v. Itās safe to say hundreds of UNLV have received advice from Rimi Marwah. A longtime Rebel, Marwah has worked at UNLV for more than 25 years and first started her career at UNLV as an academic advisor in what later became the Academic Success Center.
Now an assistant dean for undergraduate education and career development for the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, Marwah oversees the advising center where she mentors academic advisors and still relishes in seeing students turn their tassels.
āThere's few things that make me cry in life, but graduation is one of them and getting to see students finish and start adulthood. I have been volunteering at graduation for more than 10 years. Itās so amazing,ā Marwah said. Read more about Marwah:

The Communication Studies Rising Star Award and 2023 Outstanding Student Creative Communication Award will each award students $200.
