Amazing pool renovation transformation… from blah to BLAZING!
Pool renovations can easily revive an existing backyard. These dramatic before and after images will show how this project went from blah to BLAZING!
The renovation consisted of:
• Removing and replacing the existing deck with natural quartzite coping with 3-piece paver in a large Lafitt pattern.
• Converting existing steps into a large wet deck
• Applying new interior finish with blue quartz
• Creating a multi-level deck leading to the spa
• Enlarging the spa spillway
• Adding pedestals with Paragon Pools’ signature WetFlame™, water and fire features
• Elevating and enlarging the back wall of the spa and adding a 4-foot sheer descent.
• Finishing the pool and spa with 1" X 1" blue mosaic glass tile and natural ledge stone.

Float Like A Duck, Water Safety Initiative Receives 2024 Step Into Swim Grant

UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center- Aquatics and the City of Las Vegas- Aquatics Division Benefit from Grant Funds

(LAS VEGAS, NV) June 2024 - Float Like A Duck™, a water safety initiative presented by Paragon Pools in Las Vegas, NV received a fourth grant from Step Into Swim, the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) initiative focused on safe swimming. One hundred percent of the grant funds, $8,000 will be utilized in a collaboration with Float Like a Duck, UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC)- Aquatics, and The City of Las Vegas- Aquatics Division to provide free swimming lessons for at-risk youths in the community.

“The Step Into Swim grants have been a great benefit to our community,” states Joseph Vassallo, CBP president of Paragon Pools and founder of Float Like A Duck. “The funds provide additional financial support allowing more families to access valuable swimming programs to learn how to swim and be safe around water.”

“It is with kindness from our community members and donors, like Paragon Pools, who keep valuable programs, like water safety initiatives, the ability to expand and help more students and community members attain education at UNLV,” said Dr. Keith Rogers, vice president for student affairs at UNLV.

To date, funding from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 grants has enabled over 330 area youths to enroll in free swimming lessons and lifeguard train-to-work programs. The grant will be distributed in the following means $5,000 to the City of Las Vegas Aquatics and $3,000 to UNLV SRWC- Aquatics.

On May 6th, SRWC hosted a ceremonial check presentation with Joseph Vassallo and UNLV representatives to commemorate the grant donation. Aquatics Program Director Elisa Marcheschi Hickey spoke about the importance of the grant in facilitating learn to swim programs and water safety awareness for children of students and staff members.

Amazing pool renovation transformation…from water feature to WATERFALL!

At Paragon Pools, we are always eager to assist a homeowner in realizing their aquatic dreams. Thus, when a new client contacted us for a unique renovation project, we were confident we could deliver their expectations with minimal intrusion to the existing space.

The freeform pool with beach entry included a low-profile water feature with 3 sheer descents on a small, 3-tier raised bond beam. The homeowner wanted to change the look of the pool to something more exotic, a design that would better complement the beach entry. He desired a large waterfall and a slide for his 5-year-old daughter.

After thorough on-site review, our team determined the existing plumbing and equipment were sufficient to accommodate the renovation.

Caping the sheers, the plumbing was extended to become the water source for the waterfall and slide. The waterfall team then began the multi-phase process of constructing the structure on, over, and adjacent to the existing raised bond beam.

The result was a custom designed, tropical themed waterfall, slide, and winding stairs that spans approximately 20 feet wide X 6 feet depth X 7 feet high.

The homeowners and their daughter were ecstatic with the finished design and functionality.

Amazing Pool Renovation Transformation… from timeworn to REVITALIZED!

Originally constructed in 2001, this award-winning freeform pool had served the homeowners well over the 20+ years. Timeworn from the elements, the family decided to renovate the pool with some of the most up-to-date features and equipment. They looked to the original designer and contractor Paragon Pools in Las Vegas for their expertise.

Before and after imagery reveals the amazing backyard transformation crafted by the Team at Paragon Pools.
The renovation included a new interior finish with blue surf by Pebble Technology International, new pool tile, new decking with porcelain pavers, replacing the lights with Fluidra North America LED lights, new Fluidra pool equipment, and the installation of a VBG compliant unblockable drain. A new barbeque island was constructed by Mac Landscaping Inc.
