Today... Amy Lynn Frost and I sponsored a UNLV Military & Veteran Services Center MVP Atomic Golf bay for 10 of our exceptional student workers, who rallied in support of Melissa Barber and our team during my extended 65 day recovery. With their hard work the MVSC Cert team processed VA Education Benefits for over 1200 students. I am so proud of their dedication, service, reliability and sense of service.

Today we honor those who have sacrificed for our freedom. May we never forget the price of that freedom. 🇺🇸

We are happy to announce that we ranked in the Top 10 at spot #3, for Military Friendly Schools in the Tier 1 Research Institute category. UNLV previously was awarded Top 10 in 2021 and 2023. We are also in the rankings for Military Spouse Friendly Schools for the first time.

UNLV commencements are still happening! Our graduate reception is on Monday 12/18 6-8pm in the Foundation Building. We hope that those graduating will take the time to celebrate their accomplishments, you’ve earned it!

Big day around these parts!

This morning we welcomed dozens of new veterans/military-affiliated students to UNLV *and* we received our plaque recognizing us as Top 10 Military Friendly for another year!

If you missed our July orientation, come to our August 23rd event! Here you will learn about your benefits, certification process, and resources specifically for our military affiliated students offered here at UNLV.

We will also be giving away more prizes thanks to the KT Grace Foundation!

Some of our SCOs attended the annual WAVES conference held in Reno this week. They were able to explore northern Nevada, check out and , and connect with other western schools.

Maddy, Melissa, and Erika presented on how to work as a team in a hybrid environment to service students.

Now they head back to UNLV to continue certifying and to host an orientation session held on Thursday.

Southern Leg 2023 dog tag presentation.

The culmination of 60 miles rucked down NV Hwy 95, UNLV Rebel Vets Organization President James Eden and OBB Lead Organizer Maddy Anderson presented dog tags of the fallen.

The Southern Leg 2023 Closing Ceremony was held today at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

We took the two mile walk onto cemetery grounds united as one.

While is definitely a team effort, most teams have an MVP. This year, was crucial to OBB Southern Leg's success!

She originally came to the MVSC as peer mentor before we nabbed her up as a VA School Certifying Official. Maddy spent countless hours organizing for OBB behind the scenes *while* knocking her regular duties out of the park AND taking master's classes. 😲

And with that, the six ten-mile ruck legs are a wrap! We hope to have you join us at 11 AM tomorrow (Mon, 5/29) at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery where we'll shuttle you to the starting point of our final two mile march to deliver the dog tags at our closing ceremony.

Once again, we cannot fully express our appreciation for the dozens of ruckers and those who stopped or drove by to offer their support. This event becomes more moving each year.
