Education and Sharing Day in Leander!

Education and Sharing Day highlights the crucial need for moral and ethical education in addition to standard education.

Education and Sharing Day was championed by the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory. 40 years ago, Congress passed a joint resolution and President Carter signed into law a resolution to designate the Rebbe’s birthday as Education and Sharing Day. Each president since Carter, as well as numerous local legislatures, governors, and mayors have annually recognized the date corresponding to the Rebbe’s birthday, celebrated four days before Passover, as Education and Sharing Day. The Rebbe was born in 1902 in present day Mykolaiv, Ukraine and this year marks 122 years since his birth.

Here in Leander, Texas, Education and Sharing Day was proclaimed by Mayor Christine DeLisle, recognizing that one of the most important things we can do for young people in Leander is to ensure they have a strong moral and ethical education.

Model Matzah Bakery

We had a great time learning about how Matzah is made, threshing, winnowing, and grinding wheat, mixing flour and water to make Matzah dough, rolling the dough, making holes, baking, and eating handmade Model Matzah!

As the holiday of Pesach (Passover) approaches, Chabad of Leander presents the "Model Matzah Bakery". Bring your children on Sunday, April 7th, 11 am - 12 pm to experience baking their very own "Matzah".
