We are so READY to meet you all next week! Get SET to learn all about us and GO Sigma Alpha!🏁❤️🔥
As a professional sorority, our sisters go above and beyond to be successful in their academics. Our Scholarship Pillar upholds our sisters to this success. ✏️💫
To help our sisters be successful in the classroom, our Scholarship Chair helps organize study hours. This is an opportunity for sisters to spend time together while prioritizing their academics. At our annual banquet, scholarships are awarded according to this pillar. In Sigma Alpha, our executive team is always looking for new ways to help our sisters achieve scholastic greatness! 📚✨
As women in agriculture, our Pillar of Service is especially important to us.
As a sorority, we give back in every way possible. Our sisters participate in Ag in the Classroom and we also help put on our annual Hog Roast with our brother fraternity, Alpha Gamma Rho, to help support the Blue Jacket Foundation. Additionally, we support Janet, a young women from Tanzania studying S.T.E.M. In Sigma Alpha, we are always willing to lend a helping hand through service.🌱🤝🏼
Our next pillar is Leadership:
As professional women in agriculture, we are always working to develop our leadership and grow professionally. Our Women in Ag Panel, leadership conferences, and professional and personal development events allow us to better ourselves as individuals. With these tools, we are able to prepare ourselves to be the leaders that the future of agriculture and our world needs. 🌎🌱
Let’s talk about fellowship:
Our Fellowship Pillar brings us closer as sisters and allows us to build valuable lifelong relationships. Our Fellowship Pillar utilizes our Big Sister Program to build those meaningful relationships. We also have formals and sisterhood events that allow us to deepen those connections that we build. Go Sigma and find those connections that will last a lifetime!💞💫
We are two weeks away from open recruitment and we are so ready to meet you all! Let’s learn more about us:
• The objective of Sigma Alpha shall be to promote its members in all facets of agriculture and to strengthen the bonds of friendship among them. It is the purpose of the members to strive for achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service, and to further the development of excellence in women pursuing careers in agriculture.🌱
• Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority that is passionate about strengthening its members through the pillars of Leadership, Scholarship, Fellowship, and Service. To join Sigma Alpha, it is not required that you have an ag major. We also do not have a house, but we are the only professional sorority on campus. These aspects make us unique and allow us to focus on the pillars that make us who we are.✨🫶🏼
We enjoyed seeing everyone on City Campus today! Catch us on East Campus tomorrow from 4-6 p.m. at the club fair to learn more about us! 💞✨

Recruitment is here! Our Recruitment Chair, Jacy Hafer, has a message for all of you before the week kicks off tomorrow:
“Dear PNMs,
We are so excited for you and the journey you’ve decided to take! And while you may not know what you want to do, I encourage you to look for the people that feel the most like home. Remember to be yourself, know that everything happens for a reason, and we can’t wait to meet you!” -Jacy Hafer
💞🥰✨
Our last pillar is our Scholarship Pillar. Let’s hear from Celie Childears, a member of our Scholarship Committee, to learn more about what this pillar means to us:
“Scholarship is highly valued in Sigma Alpha and something our sorority strives to excell in. We push our members to do the best they can in their classes as well as providing opportunities for our members to better themselves in areas they would like to grow. You can find Sigma sisters studying all around campus throughout the week and our alumnae network is an amazing resource for career advice and future internships! We also offer the opportunity to apply for scholarships within our chapter to assist our members financially. As a professional sorority, scholarship and academics are key for our members to be the best sisters they can be!” -Celie Childears
📚✏️✨
Our Service Pillar is one that allows us to serve the agriculture industry and beyond. Here is a message from our philanthropy chair, Alexis Jansen, about our Service Pillar:
“The Pillar of Service in Sigma Alpha is a valuable part of our professional sorority. We find ourselves helping underserved students in FFA, spending time educating youth in the Lincoln area about agriculture, and other countless activities where agriculture is involved. This not only makes our girls in ag help educate others but also helps our members without an ag background learn more about it themselves. For me serving as the philanthropy chair I feel honored to guide my sisters. Community service has been an important part of my life. Outside of Sigma Alpha, you can find me dedicating my own time to serve others.” -Alexis Jansen

As a professional sorority, leadership has no boundaries. Our Leadership Chair, Olivia Merza, has a special message from us about our Pillar of Leadership:
“One of the things that makes Sigma Alpha so special and unique is our leadership. As a professional sorority, every member has some leadership goals, whether big or small. For some of our members, leadership looks like developing their confidence or exploring career options. For others, leadership looks like holding a position of office and networking - both inside and out of our chapter. As leadership chair, I strive to meet every member where they are at and organize events and meetings that help members achieve their goals while in college and beyond. Without our leadership pillar, Sigma Alpha would not be the same! Go Greek, Go Sigma!” -Olivia Merza
💞🤩🤍
Our pillars are what make us who we are as a sorority. Let’s hear from our Sisterhood Chair, Lexi Ferris, about what our Fellowship Pillar means to us:
“Sigma Alpha is, first and foremost, a sisterhood. We strive to be sisters to one another in all aspects of our sorority. Whether it's sisterhood retreat, Big/Little Reveal, supporting each other in our different organizations, or just spending time together, we know that the unique bond we have as sisters is what makes Sigma Alpha so special! The friendships I have gained in my time as a member of Sigma Alpha will be one’s that I will cherish forever. As the sisterhood chair, I strive to bring members of Sigma Alpha together and help them built those life-long friendships.” - Lexi Ferris
