A note from the Editor: It has been a super fun semester creating all of the content and running our chapter’s social media! Since I am graduating, I just wanted to thank this chapter for being such a positive experience throughout the past four chaotic years. As we wrap up the last day of classes, we’d like to look back at all of the music we’ve created together this semester. Here are our wonderful sisters who were involved in opera scenes this semester after their performance on Sunday night! Congrats to all of our sisters for all of the hard work you’ve put in this semester and good luck on juries and finals! 🎶❤️

On Monday night, we also recognized two wonderful sisters with a Sword of Honor! Lauren Plumley has served the chapter as Treasurer of two terms, and Lauren Breed has served the chapter as Secretary 2021-2022, and President 2022-2023! Congrats to you both! ❤️🌹❤️

We are still SO EXCITED about last night!!! We are so happy to see our chapter grow and we can’t wait to see what these 10 fabulous new members do next!
Last night’s Initiation Ceremony was particularly special for a few members: sisters Abbi and Bailey Brundrett, as well as Maggie McCabe, as her mom was initiated into the Beta Mu Chapter of SAI and traveled from Illinois to watch Maggie become a member! What an amazing night!!! Love and roses to all of our new members ❤️🌹❤️

Tonight we initiated TEN PHENOMENAL NEW MEMBERS! Congrats to Anissa, Avery, Bailey, Cheyenne, Emma, Jenni, Maggie, Murphy, Rose, and Tori! More initiation pics to come 🌹❤️🌹

Tonight we had our spring semester musicale! We had a wonderful time performing for our fellow sisters and friends! Congrats to all who performed!!!

Our Spring Musicale is tomorrow at 6:30pm at First Presbyterian Church here in Lincoln! Because we are asking for donations for People-to-People tomorrow, here is a little bit about this wonderful organization! To learn about some of their past projects specifically, please visit their website.

We are ECSTATIC to welcome Professor Amy Guevara as a Friend of the Arts tonight! Amy is a voice teacher, academic advisor, and has been involved with UNL Opera as an assistant director and is currently directing the Opera Scenes workshop! We appreciate everything she does for the Glenn Korff School of Music and the Lincoln community! We are so proud to now call her one of our sisters!

Another BIG congrats to our fantastic sister, Lauren Breed, on her DAZZLING senior recital yesterday! ❤️🌹❤️

And last, but most certainly not least, is Lauren Plumley! Lauren was initiated in the Fall semester of 2020 and has served two terms as the chapter’s Treasurer! She is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and will be moving back to Illinois to start her job with the US Army Corps of Engineers after graduation! Lauren’s favorite SAI memory was “The experience of my first official province day with everyone, as well as some of the fun events we’ve had during the recruitment weeks!” We will miss Lauren so much and wish her the best of luck! Tonight some of our sisters performed Handel’s Messiah! Our members in University Singers include Abbi Brundrett, Lauren Breed, Ella Young, Kay Merrill, and Molly Adams, MIT Tori Cocannouer, alumnae Emily Chapman, and our wonderful advisor, Dr. Jamie Reimer, as the soprano soloist! It was a lovely performance by all, congrats to our sisters as well as everyone involved!

Up next is Abbi Brundrett! Abbi was initiated in the Spring semester of 2020 (but technically, not until the Fall semester of 2020 because Zoom initiations 🤪) and was actually initiated on her birthday! Over the past few years, Abbi has served the chapter as Sergeant-at-Arms, Vice President, Ritual, Secretary, Editor, and Archivist. She is graduating with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in French. She plans to start working towards a Master of Music in Vocal Performance in the Fall of 2024. Abbi’s favorite memory from SAI was “My last pledging ceremony! It has been a great semester welcoming so many new members and I’m so happy to see how much the chapter has grown since when I joined three years ago! I also had the pleasure of welcoming my sister, Bailey, into the chapter this semester!” We will miss Abbi so much and wish her the best of luck! Love and roses to you, Abbi, and congrats! ❤️🌹🥳

We had such a fun time following around TWO of our MITs, Bailey Brundrett and Rose McClelland, yesterday!!! To watch everything they did in the day, check our story highlights!

This past Saturday, our sisters helped out the Lincoln Alumnae Chapter with the annual Instrument Petting Zoo at the Lincoln Children’s Museum! Our members, along with , the Lincoln Alumnae Chapter, and a few music students from Doane College, gave kids the chance to try all kinds of instruments: from brass, to strings, to woodwinds, and percussion! Some of our members even tried some new instruments themselves 👀

We had such a wonderful time at Xi A’s Province Day today! A special thank you to the Lincoln Alumnae Chapter for hosting all of us! ❤️🌹

Our next senior spotlight goes to Alexis Kahn! Alexis was initiated in the Fall semester of 2019 and has served as the chapter’s Editor and Sergeant-at-Arms. Alexis is graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Social Sciences Education and she is still planning what her next step will be after graduation! Her favorite SAI memory was “All of the bonding events! I had such a great time getting to know everyone in the chapter through their music- you’re all so amazingly talented- and then also having the opportunity to have events where we were able to be more relaxed, laugh, and just generally have a good time in the company of one another.” We will miss Alexis so much, but we wish her the best of luck! With just a month left until graduation, it’s time for senior spotlights!
First up is Kayla Martin! Kayla was initiated in the Spring semester of 2020 (but technically Fall semester of 2020 because Zoom initiation 🤪) and has served the chapter as the Corresponding Secretary and Vice President, Membership. She is graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education and will be teaching at elementary music in Omaha Public Schools this fall! Kayla’s favorite SAI memory was “My first spring musicale! It was so interesting to see the talents of each sister and to feel the love and support from the community and other groups on campus!” We will miss Kayla so much and wish her the best of luck! Love and roses to you, Kayla, and congrats! ❤️🌹🥳

Join SAI at our Spring Musicale! Many of the sisters will be performing solos and/or small group pieces. We are also asking each attendant to make a free will donation to People-to-People, a pet of SAI Philanthropies. There will also be a small reception to follow!
