University of Nebraska Foundation
Our mission is to grow relationships and resources for the University of Nebraska.
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) have become an increasingly popular way for charitable individuals and families to support the nonprofits that mean the most to them while maximizing their giving impact and tax benefits.
If you’re considering what will happen to your DAF beyond your lifetime, we encourage you to create a legacy plan by naming a successor adviser or designating the remaining value of your DAF to support one or more charitable organizations, such as the University of Nebraska Foundation.
If you have questions about planned giving, reach out to the experts on our team, like Renae, who can answer questions like this one and more! ➡️ https://bit.ly/3VzyI73

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is like a charitable investment account for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about. At the end of a donor’s life, without thoughtful planning, a donor-advised fund can become “orphaned,” with no direction for the use of the funds remaining. What succession planning can you do to ensure your DAF doesn’t end up orphaned?

Donors can establish a lasting legacy that can profoundly impact current and future students. Monica and Bill Blizek created the Monica Blizek Fellowship in Social Work Fund at UNO to support aspiring social workers through a planned gift.
“We know that there is a serious shortage of mental health professionals in Nebraska and across the country,” said Bill Blizek, “and we wanted to give our best students the financial assistance they might need to pursue a degree in social work.”
