2290 Tax Forms

Anyone who drives a vehicle that has a gross weight of 55,000 lbs. or more over public roads— no matter if it is licensed to you or in a LLC, Corporation, Partnership or held by another entity needs to file a 2290.

If you would like NFBI to file your 2290 this year, please contact our office. If we filed for you last year, you will need to let us know you want it completed this year as well.

These forms are due by AUGUST 31st.

For everyone wondering what we’ve been up to, we’re remodeling the office building, adding offices, expanding our conference rooms and getting all new furniture. We’ve been planning for over a year and now things are finally taking shape! Stay tuned for more updates!

W-2 and 1099 Filing Changes for 2023 Most taxpayers will be required to file their 1099s and W-2s electronically this year. We review the changes and provide options for filing.

Several of our consultants and family members attended the National Farm Business Management conference in Belaire, Michigan this week. The focus of the conference was building value for the farms and ranches we work with.

REMINDER:
If NFBI prepared your taxes, you will need to make sure you have signed and returned your 8879 form to our office. We cannot file your returns without this signed form.

You can mail, email, fax, or DocuSign the form.

Tax Deadline is April 18, 2023

The Nebraska property tax look up tool for 2022 has just been released. You can enter your parcel information and upload with your tax documents.

Parcel ID Lookup Some counties use “Property ID” rather than “Parcel ID”. You may find the parcel ID on the real estate tax statement issued by the treasurer of the county where the parcel is located.

Reminder: 1099s and W2s need to be issued by January 31st. If Nebraska Farm Business prepares your forms, be sure to send your information so we can process them in a timely manner.

1099 and W-2 Information is due to our office by Sunday!

If we prepared your forms last year, NFBI provided you with a pre-filled 1099 form with the information of all 1099 recipients from last year. Please complete the form and send back to our office to [email protected].

If we did not prepare forms for you last year and would like us to, there are also fill-in pdf files on our website under the “client info” tab for you to print, complete and send to our office.

Please have all of your 1099 and W-2 information into our office by January 15th, 2022 to avoid late fees!

You must issue a 1099 if you:
Paid a total of $600 for the year to any individual for services or rent, veterinarian services, Limited Liability Company, independent contractor, attorney/law firm, etc.
Paid any individual $600 or more in interest and/or dividends.

A friendly reminder to all clients that NFBI is no longer preparing tax returns based on a March 1st deadline. We will now be completing returns on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-farmers no longer need to wait until after March 1st to turn in their information if they want to file early. As always, you can contact the office or your individual consultant with any questions you may have.
