Dr. Ibrahim's extensive expertise in neurosurgery, coupled with his dedication to pediatric care, has made a significant impact on the field. We are immensely grateful for his valuable insights and the knowledge he shared about deep brain stimulation for epilepsy, movement disorders, and neurodevelopmental conditions. 💡🌍

Dr. Ibrahim's accomplishments:
- Graduated from the University of Calgary Cu***ng School of Medicine
- Completed residency training at the University of Toronto
- PhD on brain connectivity in children with epilepsy
- Fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Niklaus Children's Hospital/ University of Miami
- Abe Bresver Chair in Functional Neurosurgery at SickKids in Toronto
- Associate Professor at the University of Toronto
- Senior Scientist in the Program in Neuroscience and Mental Health at the SickKids Research Institute
- Recipient of numerous awards, including Canada's Top 40 Under 40 and the Governor General of Canada's Gold Medal

Dr. Ibrahim's dedication to improving the lives of children, as showcased by their early success with deep brain stimulation, is truly inspiring. The world-first test they conducted on a young girl with autism, as documented in the news article, demonstrates the immense potential of their work. 👏🌟

About UAMS Neurosurgery

The Department of Neurosurgery in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is dedicated to providing state of the art, compassionate care to our patients. Faculty in the Department of Neurosurgery have expertise in various subspecialties, including seizure surgery, brain implants, pediatric neurosurgery and neuro-oncology, including brachytherapy and radiation surgery. Faculty members are also experienced in neuro-endocrinology and disorders affecting the spine and spinal cord. Special services include peripheral and cranial nerve surgery and treatment of vascular disease.

Our offices and clinics are housed in the Jackson T. Stephens Spine and Neurosciences Institute located adjacent to the UAMS Medical Center. The Stephens Institute is the leading tertiary referral center for the neurosciences in the state of Arkansas. In addition, UAMS is the only level one trauma center in the state.

The Department of Neurosurgery also provides a neurosurgery residency program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Through this residency program we strive to educate and produce highly skilled, ethical, and compassionate future neurosurgeons.
