Thank You!

After a busy week of traveling to three different cities in three days, I found myself hosting our first financial virtual experience at a Sheraton Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

Although I was super tired, it was so valuable and powerful!

I mean, Lissa Prudencio, Kristin Messerli, Wendy Raizin, Yoly M. Valencia, MBA, CMCP, Terrence McLaney, Ashlee K. Roberts, PhD, Peter Bielagus, Lonnie McGowen Jr., and Max Sanchez not only talked about budgeting, saving, credit cards, student loans, money management, real estate, stocks, and other forms of investments, but each of them talked the impact that emotions, mindset, values, faith, discipline, generosity, and habits have on your ability to attain financial success.

Based on my personal experience, I am convinced that every student and professional that had the opportunity to participate in this powerful event walked away with a set of tools that will have a lasting impact on their financial success in years to come.

Again, I want to thank all of the panelist so much for taking time of their busy schedules on a Saturday afternoon to positively impact the lives of the next generation of leaders. I am super excited about what will happen next year at the 2nd Financial Empowerment Virtual Experience!

The 2023 Circle of Change Leadership Experience Was Amazing!

A couple of weeks ago, my amazing leadership team and I not only had the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of 200 emerging student leaders from 20 different colleges/universities in the country, but the impact and transformation that occurred because of the keynote speakers, workshop presenters, esteemed panelist/speakers, and other incredible people involved with the event was life changing for me!

Literally, after meeting so many awesome students from across the country, interacting with some of the most incredible panelist/speakers in the world, and observing the transformation that takes place for everyone within our community over the three days of the conference, I am MORE inspired and motivated than ever to expand our reach, impact more students, and make a greater impact in the lives of the next generation of leaders.

As my grandmother once told me, "Great things are not meant to be kept to yourself, they are given to you so that you can give them to others and allow others to experience the greatness that you have been blessed to receive".

With so many challenging situations and circumstances facing emerging student leaders today, my hope and vision is that more can experience the transformation and empowerment that takes place every year at the Circle of Change Leadership Experience!

Super proud of our team and extremely grateful to be blessed with the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students all across the country. Looking forward to impacting more students at the 2024 First Generation Student Career Conference in Miami, Florida next year!

Powerful Story from First Gen Student!
The last day of the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference was special because my leadership team and I not only were able to give out $2,000.00 in scholarships to deserving first generation students, but Lizza Monet Morales delivered a powerful keynote presentation where she featured William Toro, a former student who attended the 2022 Circle of Change Leadership Experience in Los Angeles, California.
During this closing keynote presentation, William shared an amazing story about how he met Lizza at the conference and would later cross paths with her again at the Grammy Awards when he decided to fly across the country to volunteer for the event.
From there, William talked about how he had an amazing experience at the Grammy's because introduced him to lots of people, empowered him for success, and became an amazing mentor in his life. At this point, I was in so much joy because this is the purpose of the entire conference. To see students become great while also connecting with other great people who can enable them to make their dreams a reality!
After hearing this powerful message from William, it was great to connect and learn about the impact that transpired in all of the other students and professionals that attended the event. With so much positive momentum from Miami, I am super excited to see what is going to happen in Los Angeles this November at the 2023 Circle of Change Leadership Experience. I believe that it has the potential to be the best ever!!!!

A Growth Mindset is Key To Professional Success!

Throughout my career journey, I have discovered that success is not only a process of commitment, sacrifice, positive habits, and life-long learning, but it requires resilience, confidence, perseverance, and an ability to turn bad situations into positive outcomes.

This Saturday, we are so lucky to have Monica Diaz, Cameron Wolfe, Ashaki Rucker, and Martita Mestéy - Durruthy (she/her/ella) serving as guest panelist at the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference in Miami, Florida.

The accomplished and incredible professionals will be talking with students from 47 different colleges and universities across the country about developing the resilience to thrive and succeed within your area of expertise.

With so many challenges facing college students today as it relates to personal, collegiate, and career success, a powerful session on resilience from top tier professionals will be life changing and very impactful for all the students and professionals that are able to be part of this transformational conversation.

We are so grateful and appreciative for these amazing professional that have agreed to speak at the event. What's even better about this panel is that Monica has agreed to sign copies of her book for students as well after the panel session.

Excited about what will transpire this Saturday!

Relationships Matter!

There are numerous studies that I share with students and professionals about career success, but one study that I share very often is a study that I learned about from PayScale where they suggested that 87% of people attain jobs through some form of relationship.

In essence, the most effective that an individual becomes at building, developing, and managing positive professional relationships, the more likely that these relationships will enhance their career trajectory.

Based on this reality, I am super excited to announce that Silvana Marmolejos, Dr. Paula Hopkins, Merdochey T. LaFrance, and Michael Lay will be joining us next week at the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference to talk with students about professional/digital branding, effective networking and relationship building skills, and specific ways that First Generation Students can begin to build the relationships and social capital that will be needed to position themselves for career success in college and beyond.

I am very grateful that each of these incredible professionals have agreed to speak next week at the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference because the knowledge that they will share with students and professionals is so important for students/professionals everywhere as it relates to their career success.

With more than 40 colleges and universities already registered, there is still room for others to join us next week in Miami, Florida. I know that its going to be a transformational experience for everyone that is involved!

Helping First Generation Students Find The Right Career Path!

My good friend, Dr. Tierney Bates once shared with me that 50% of college students change their major in college and 73% graduate without ever attaining a job within their major.

To help first generation students from across the country find the right career path in college and position themselves for career success within that profession, we have created an incredible panel at the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference this April to help students identify and develop the skills that are required to find the right career path and create an incredible career within that area of expertise.

We are so grateful that Clara Stroude-Vazquez, Dominique Leveille, Ph.D, LMFT, Rodney W. Jacobs, Jr., JD, MPA, MPH, and Priscilla Guasso have agreed to serve as a guest speaker/panelist for this powerful session that will be provided for hundreds of First Generation Students from across the country.

I am very confident that every First Generation Student who has the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain wisdom from these exceptional professionals will not only be greatly impacted in college and beyond, but they will attain some valuable information that will assist them in finding the right career path and positioning themselves for career success.

We are so excited and expectant of the transformation that will happen during this session next month in Miami, Florida. To learn more about this life changing experience for First Generation Students, you can visit our conference website at https://lnkd.in/g-tci-z.

2023 First Generation Student Career Conference!

In less than three weeks, hundreds of First Generation Students and Professionals will be gathering in Miami, Florida for the 3rd Annual First Generation Student Career Conference!

I am super excited about this year's conference because we have not only doubled in student registrations this year for our in-person conference, but we have more than 50 plus campus-based professionals that will be attending the conference with students as well.

To ensure that they are impacted as well at the 2023 First Generation Student Career Conference, we have developed a professional development track that will consist of four impactful programs specifically for professionals that serve First Generation Students.

On Saturday, our third professional development session will be focused on helping professionals learn about the specific things that employers are searching for in student interns and graduates from accomplished professionals that are making a huge impact in South Florida.

Toni Pruitt, PHR, PRC, CSM, Ana Larrea-Albert, and Priscilla Torres, M.S. are not only amazing leaders and people, but they are exceptional professionals within their areas of expertise. I know that every professional that has the opportunity to hear them speak this April is going to be greatly impacted by the words of wisdom they will share with professionals responsible for impacting First Generation Students on a daily basis at various campuses across the country.

To learn more about this transformational experience this April, you can visit the conference website at https://lnkd.in/g-tci-z.

Tish Norman, M.Ed ☯️ Keynote Speaker, Greek University, Ernesto Mejia, Jarrod Benjamin, MBA, PMP, CASP, CISM, Lizza Monet Morales and I not only have a transformational message to share with first generation students this April about attaining career leadership success in college and beyond, but each of us has a heart to see first generation students flourish, succeed, thrive, and attain the personal, leadership, and career success that they have been destined to see manifest within their life.
