Belmont Shore Christmas Parade was this past weekend, but we still have several holiday events on the horizon!
๐ŸŽ„ If you're looking for a holiday parade, Councilmember Roberto Uranga and Wrigley Association's 69th Annual Daisy Lane Parade will be taking place over on Daisy and Burnett in the Wrigley Neighborhood. More info:

๐Ÿšค The annual Naples Holiday Boat Parade is happening on December 16th, and the theme is "Christmas Around the World".

For applicants looking to apply for a Special Event or Film Permit while our website is down, please call our office at 562-570-5333 to discuss dates and availability.

๐Ÿšข SPECIAL EVENTS:
Applications can be submitted up to one (1) year in advance, but must provide a minimum of 60 days to process your application.

Examples of Special Events: Concerts, Festivals, Charity Runs

๐ŸŽฌ FILMING:
Film applications must be submitted AT LEAST three (3) business days before production.

๐Ÿก BLOCK PARTY:
Block Party Applications must be submitted AT LEAST ten (10) business days before your event.

Affected residents of a block party must sign off and approve of street closure. Not all streets qualify for a Block Party (ie major streets cannot be closed).

The Alamitos Concession Stand will be having its official grand opening Friday, November 10th at 5PM!

Gaucho Grill operates the Alamitos Beach Concession Stand and
the first 300 people to show up will receive a free empanada, starting at 5PM!

Empanadas are limited, and available on a first come, first serve basis.

The Alamitos Beach Concession Stand Grand Opening is happening on November 10, 2023 at 5PM!

Located at 780 E Shoreline Drive, the new Alamitos Beach Concession Stand replaces a one-story facility with a two-story cafรฉ with open outdoor and indoor seating and a rooftop deck for visitor enjoyment.

This brand new 5,500 square foot building features an outdoor childrenโ€™s play area, complete with new restrooms and an upcoming sports rental/retail facility. The cost of the new facility totals $10.1 million, which was allocated from the Tidelands Fund.

The City of Long Beach concessionaire, Gaucho Grill, operates from the Alamitos Beach
Concession facility and will serve as the catering host for this grand opening. The public is encouraged to enjoy the celebration by participating in a free empanada give-away to the first 300 people on a first come, first serve basis. See you there!

๐ŸŽ‰ NOVEMBER SPECIAL EVENTS HIGHLIGHTS

๐ŸŒบ On Saturday, November 4th is Dia de los Mu***os Grand Parade presented by the City of Long Beach and Councilwoman Mary Zendejas. The parade take over Pine Ave from 7th to Shoreline Drive, and head westbound from Shoreline Drive to Linden. This event is FREE so head over with the family! Parking is available at any one of the City Place or Convention Center lots.
๐ŸŽŠFollowing the parade, head over to Rainbow Lagoon for the Arte y Ofrendas Festival where they'll have art exhibits, face painting, an artisan mercado, dancers, food vendors, and more! Tickets can be purchased at GrandParadeDiaDeMu***os.com
๐ŸŽ–๏ธOn November 11th, there will be a Long Beach Veterans Day Celebration at Houghton Park featuring community resources, a kids zone, food trucks, flyovers, and music from Knyght Ryder and The Satin Dollz.
๐ŸชฉThere are two EDM concerts taking place at the Queen Mary this month presented by Insomniac Events: Dreamstate and Apocalypse Fest.
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Over at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center on November 18-19 ComplexCon returns with exclusive product drops, live music by Kid Cudi + special guests, and the First We Feast Food Lagoon at Rainbow Lagoon with appearances by Sean Evans of Hot Ones.
๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธIf you're looking to burn some calories, the Churro 5K will be taking place at Los Cerritos Park and the Long Beach Turkey Trot over at Granada Launch Ramp on Thanksgiving morning.
๐Ÿ›๏ธShop small this season and head over to 4th Street Long Beach for Fourth Fridays!
๐ŸŽ„To wrap up the end of the month and to kick off the holidays, the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center will be holding their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of the Terrace Theater on Tuesday, November 28th where there will be fireworks, holiday themed photo ops, food, and live music.
๐Ÿ“† As a reminder, there are TWO observed City Holidays this month, Election Day on Tuesday November 7 and Thanksgiving, which is observed on the November 23 and 24. Follow Long Beach City and Long Beach Public Works for affected City closures.

Dia De Los Mu***os Parade returns to Pine Ave on Saturday, November 4th!

Families and friends are invited to join this celebration of life in rememberance of their loved ones who have died. This yearโ€™s celebration will include the Cityโ€™s festive street parade from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Downtown Long Beach, coinciding with an Arte y Ofrendas Festival at Rainbow Lagoon that will go well into the evening, hosted by Grand Parade Dia De Los Mu***os Inc.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14
โ€ข 6:50am - Aquarium of the Pacific 5k

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, RACE DAY
โ€ข 6:00am- Bike Tour Start
โ€ข 6:00am- Marathon Start
โ€ข 7:30am- Half Marathon Start

โ›”๏ธ For those along the Marathon route, roads will close Sunday October 15th at 5:00 AM & will re-open on a rolling basis. All roads are expected to reopen at 2:00 PM.

๐Ÿšซ Please mind the "No Parking" signs and move your cars so they don't get towed! Inquiries regarding towed vehicles can be made at 562-570-2828.

๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ BELMONT SHORE, PENINSULA, AND NAPLES AREA RESIDENTS:
FREE PARKING is available in the beach parking lots along Ocean Blvd. Enter the lots near the Belmont Pool off Granada Ave and park for free Saturday night through Sunday. Residents can exit the lots on Sunday at GRANADA AVE ONLY and be escorted across the race course by police.

๐Ÿ›ฅ BOAT OWNERS WHO PARK AT MARINA GREEN:
On Saturday Oct 14th boat owners with a LBSM hang tag will be able to park at the Convention Center starting at 5:00 PM. Entrance will be on Shoreline Drive at the service road by Rainbow Lagoon Park. Boat owners must use intercom at gate for access.

The Box Office will also be open on Friday, September 15 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm @ Hyatt Regency Long Beach Hotel Lobby (200 S Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA) for those who purchased after the shipping cutoff and want to pick up their festival wristbands early.

Coastal Country Jam will be taking place this weekend, Sept 16 & 17, at the Long Beach Convention Center Lot and Marina Green.

โ›”๏ธ Shoreline Drive will be closed from Ocean Blvd to Shoreline Village Drive. Effective Thursday Sept 14 at 7:00PM to Monday Sept 18 at 10:00AM

โœ… There will be access to Alamitos Beach Lot from Ocean Blvd and access to Shoreline Village from the west via Shoreline Drive from the 710 fwy or Pine Ave.
