Vintagecarposters.com
Each poster is warranted original.
Concentrating primarily on European marques with a particular focus on Porsche, the collection features showroom and event posters from the 1950’ - 1970’s along with an assortment of other vintage automobilia.
Now this poster is not for sale, but I thought it worthy for posting.
Not only is it a cool hand-painted/drawn image (which is rarely the case these days), but it is also signed by Patrick Long, and Jeff Zwart, two of the architects of Luftgekühlt and Air/Water.
In my opinion, vintage hand-painted posters possess an artistry and craftsmanship that modern photographic posters often - but not always - lack. Created with meticulous attention to detail, these hand-painted works of art capture the essence of an era, blending creativity with skillful brushwork. Each stroke carries the artist's personal touch, conveying emotion and character that photography struggles to replicate.
In a world increasingly dominated by digital imagery, vintage hand-painted posters stand as a reminder of the beauty of human craftsmanship. They embody a time when art and advertising were intertwined, offering not just a visual experience, but a piece of history.
Like the old saying "there's a butt for every seat" I also have posters for every budget. This original, large-format 1986 959 poster is only $125 and can be pinned to your wall without regret so you can recreate your childhood bedroom.
The Porsche 959 was one of the most technologically advanced supercars of its time, featuring cutting-edge all-wheel drive, a twin-turbocharged engine, and advanced aerodynamics. It set new benchmarks for performance and innovation, influencing the design and engineering of future high-performance sports cars.
My very patient wife is probably not going to allow me to mortgage the house to acquire one of these mythic beasts, however I now have several period 959 posters including this cutaway poster issued by Porsche Cars North America in 1986. Measuring 38.7" x 10.75", it is currently out for linen-backing.
Saw this interesting photograph of a 356 with a perspex cockpit for sale at a German auction. I guess if it had been a successful design we would have seen a depiction on a poster...but does anybody know anything more about it?
I will be exhibiting at the upcoming Motoring Market in West Los Angeles on March 10th. Besides Porsche posters, I will also have a few non-marque posters. As always, something for every wall...and budget.
This extremely fine 1965 Porsche 911 Showroom poster won't be able to be linen mounted in time for the L.A. Lit and Toy Show but it will be available. Don't miss it - these are getting harder and harder to find in this type of original condition.
Significant posters have been eluding me lately, however, I am pleased to announce the acquisition of this French-language variant of the rare 1965 911 Showroom poster. Guaranteed original and out for archival linen.
Couple book reviews up at Porsche Club of America including a new tome on the 356 that took me slightly by surprise. Happy holidays to all and thanks Damon Lowney!
'The Past and the Spurious' + 'Porsche 356: 75th Anniversary' | Book Reviews | Porsche Club of America For bibliophiles familiar with my past book review format, I’m going to attempt something a little different going forward: shorter reviews that assume you know the core fundamentals of the subject and focus more on actual book content for brevity. Up this month are two books you may lose yourself...
From now through the end of 2023, I am offering 10% off any poster in stock (and no sales tax). Just mention this specific ad. Happy holidays!
It has been a long while since I've posted, but just received this unusual 356 cutaway. Measuring 28" x 20", this poster was evidentially produced by Zims Autotechnic in the late 1980s or early 1990s as a promotional piece. Printed on slightly heavier stock than the original produced by Porsche, it is a nice and less costly alternative. No production info printed on poster, but there is a (removable) Zims sticker.
Excited to say I recently had another opportunity to write for Porsche Club of America's Panorama magazine about posters for the May 2023 issue. The topic was the 1973 Targa Florio victory poster. If you're a PCA member, you should be getting your issue shortly.
Two new additions to Vintagecarposters.com. While both are mounted on archival linen, the decision was made to leave them in close to as-found condition. They are priced accordingly, hundreds less than examples in better condition, and suitable for the aspiring collector looking for a starter poster or the individual who appreciates patina.
Not poster related, but it is art and something I wrote for Porsche Club of America.
See 'decaying' Porsches, a stripped Speedster at The Petersen's Arsham Auto Motive exhibit | Porsche Club of America The Petersen Automotive Museum’s newest exhibit, 'Arsham Auto Motive', is now open to the general public. The work of Daniel Arsham (b. 1980), a contemporary American artist renowned for his artistic explorations of architecture, archaeology, and time, one of his signature techniques involves crea...
Some new additions to Vintagecarposters.com including some non-Porsche items such as this 1953 Ford Anniversary poster and this large-scale 1950s Alfa Romeo 1900 poster.
Coming soon to Vintagecarposters.com is this rare and desirable 1954 Porsche "Triple Class Victory" Mille Miglia poster.
Just a quick note to say I will be exhibiting my wares at the 39th annual LA Lit and Toy Show held at the LAX Hilton on Saturday, February 25th 2023. Hope to see some of you there in person!

Book Reviews: 'Classic Porsche 911 Buyer’s Guide' & 'Porsche Legends' | Porsche Club of America Our latest book reviews by Benjamin Shahrabani include these two books, the paperback 'Classic Porsche 911 Buyer’s Guide' and hardback 'Porsche Legends - The Racing Icons from Zuffenhausen.'
Original and extremely rare 1956 Tourist Trophy Race poster. Sponsored by the R.A.C. and News of the World, the race took place on September 13th, 1965 at the Goodwood race track. Features the race-winning No. 2 Aston Martin DBR1 driven by Stirling Moss and Tony Brooks. Tourist Trophy posters were only displayed at the track, and not distributed to the general public making them an uncommon find today. 29.9" x 20.1" and mounted on archival linen although could be restored to suit.
I love it when customers LOVE the posters they buy...and frame and hang them without haste!
Just got this interesting and very uncommon 1970's poster in!
in Grund mehr, Porsche zu fahren: Der Schnellste ist zugleich der Sauberste! Der Porsche ist - sicherer - handlicher - wirtschaftlicher - umweltfreundlicher (und mehr Spass macht er auch!) OR IN ENGLISH One more reason to drive a Porsche: the fastest is also the cleanest! The Porsche is - safer - handier - more economical - more environmentally friendly (and it's more fun too!)
Features a fun illustration of a couple in the large purple car with a dog smelling the fumes above, and a smiling couple and a dog wiggling its tail at a smaller green Porsche 911. 23" x 33" and currently out for linen.

Previews of new posters that will be available soon...will be up soon...however in the meantime check out my latest book reviews up at Porsche Club of America. It's a 3-in-1 with books on the mighty 956, the air-cooled RS models, and the musings of a barn find hunter.
Book Reviews: 'Porsche 956 001: Creating a Legend,' 'Porsche Carrera RS 50 Years' and 'Secrets of the Barn Find Hunter' | Porsche Club of America Our latest book reviews by Benjamin Shahrabani include these three hardcovers: 'Porsche 956 001: Creating a Legend,' 'Porsche Carrera RS 50 Years' and 'Secrets of the Barn Find Hunter.'
A new addition to the store is this original (not a reproduction) 959 cutaway. 39" x 20.7" and published by Porsche Cars North America in 1988.
Couple of new additions to the shop: 1965 and 1966 Porsche Le Mans. Both are original (of course) and archival linen backed.
In 1967 Porsche tested its new Sportomatic transmission at the 84-hour Marathon de la Route held at the Nürburgring. The transmission proved effective, with the #14 Porsche 911 R equipped with the Sportomatic winning the grueling race.
This poster celebrates Porsche's success during the race. Approximately 33.2" x 46.7" and mounted on linen. Please note a tear that runs from the top to about one-third of the way down.
Asking $275 including shipping in the United States. This is a great entry-level classic Porsche poster.
From now through Sunday, June 18th/Father’s Day 2022,mention this post and receive 10% off anything on site!
1958 Porsche Le Mans Now available: Colorful artwork by Erich Strenger and celebrating Porsche's 1952-1958 class wins at the famous endurance race. 23.5" x 32.8" and mounted on archival linen.
I love it when (happy) customers decide they don't want to wait another second and immediately frame their new purchases. Here my client decided to go simple, but classic and opted for a medium-width white frame to compliment his 911 showroom poster.
I like it when clients are happy with their purchases, but who doesn't. But what I also love is when they send me a picture of their framed posters. These are going to be displayed. Hope you get many years of enjoyment, Steve!
I recently reviewed the expansive new book about the golden years of Porsche racing from Palawan Press, Porsche Silver Steed.

I do happen to have a few posters from this exciting epoch in stock currently too.
I had the opportunity to review Sean Cridland's epic new book about Brumos for Porsche Club of America. Well researched and finely written, everything you ever wanted to know about the dealership and the race team must be in there.
As it happens, I also have two posters that feature Brumos racers on my site!
