NEW Plant Based Kaiseki Tasting Menu featuring Goma Tonnyu Nabe (Sesame Soy Milk Hot Pot) featuring the flavors of Spring with authentic Japanese vegetables that are high in antioxidants for longevity & good health. This is a multi-course experience of flavors each featuring different preparation and cooking techniques. Finishing the meal with makimono sushi and handmade coconut based ice cream with your choice of matcha, toasted black sesame, ginger, or mango. Experience is vegan & vegetarian friendly and gluten free option available upon request.

Plant based Japanese cuisine has been around for centuries and we are now bringing those authentic flavors to you here in Los Angeles. When you step into Eigikutei, it will feel like you’ve been whisked away to Kyoto, Japan where Kaiseki cuisine was invented. This is the first of its kind in Los Angeles and most likely the US. We opened the first fast casual sushi & Japanese restaurant in Santa Monica in 1978 and the 2nd sushi bar in America in 1965. We are woman owned by Tomoko Morish*ta the first female sushi chef in the US.

We start taking reservations on Friday 4/5. Reservations recommended as we prepare 10 sets on weekdays and 20 sets on weekends on a first come first serve basis. KAMASU - Japanese Barracuda lightly seared “Aburi” style. This a favorite among our customers. Kamasu is much smaller (less than 1 pound) than its American counterpart and much more flavorful. Our sushi bar is open 5 Days a week from 5pm-11pm with last seating at 10:30pm. Come join us at the historic location where we opened the 2nd sushi bar in America in 1965.
