Shabbat shalom! This shabbat we will be having special guest, Avi Abelow .abelow in our Shul to share some chizuk and information on the current events in Eretz Yisrael.

Abelow is an Israeli Advocate, movie producer and distributor connecting communities and organizations with programs about the Land of Israel and the Jewish People.

He will be joining us for both Shacharis and Shalashudes. Please join us and don’t miss out on this great opportunity.

Shabbat starts at 4:30pm immediately followed by Kabbalat Shabbat. We look forward to seeing you there!

Member spotlight!!

Alanna Apfel and Lisa Tofler are currently in Israel visiting soldiers on bases and bringing supplies, visiting injured soldiers and civilians in hospitals, visiting families of fallen soldiers and fallen police officers, and bringing toys and clothing to displaced families and children living in hotels in Jerusalem.

Here are some photos from the trip. They also ran into another member of ours, Sherri Ziff, who’s son is currently fighting in Gaza.

If you would like to participate in their efforts, below is a list of the opportunities that are available: 

-Barbecue and concert for soldiers on a base ($5,000 will feed 150 to 200 soldiers and cover the cost of the musician)
-Supplies for soldiers: protein bars, beef jerky, hand warmers. (beef jerky Wholesale is $50 per case  protein bars are $20 per box 40 bars. Warmers $21 for 32 pairs 
-Tzedaka - direct to injured soldiers and civilians in hospitals, $100 per envelope will be given out with letters written by people in our community
-$$ for toys for children of displaced families. toys to be purchased in Israel
 
VERY IMPORTANT: please send a TEXT or WhatsApp message to LISA at 310-384-7483, once the donation has been completed with the amount of the donation and how you would like the funds to be used, so that we can collect the money from the Shul in Los Angeles before we leave to Israel.

What an incredible concert last night! Thank you to and everyone else who helped make this happen! Between our Friday night dinner and Moshav concert, Happy Minyan has been having an incredible Hanukkah.

But keep your eyes out because the Holiday isn’t over and we have some excited news we will be announcing tomorrow…

Happy Minyan is more than just a synagogue. We are a community of Jewish souls who want to spread the light of Hashem. We encourage Jews at all levels to come as they are and connect to Hashem through song, dance, and uplifting, powerful prayer. And if you can make some friends while you are at it, even better!

With the help of Hashem, after 28 years, we FINALLY have a permanent location! It has been about a year and a half, and since then, many of our members and friends have shared that with our new location, a new energy has emerged, bringing in so much energy and many more souls than we could have ever imagined.

We have been able to up our programming *tremendously*, with more than 2 events happening PER WEEK! In the next 10 days alone, we have 5 events planned!! Thats one event every other day!

It is only with the incredible support of our members and friends that any of this would be possible. We ask that you tell your friends about the Minyan and if you are not already a member, to become one today! If you have any ideas for events, we are always open to them. Our goal is to bring light into the Jewish community, especially during these times. We cannot do this alone. Thank you again to all of you who support our shul and we look forward to many more services, events, prayers, and experiences to come.
