Celiac Disease Foundation
Leading global organization accelerating diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease.
🚢 Anchors aweigh for a gluten-free adventure! 🌊 The Celiac Disease Foundation is on board the Independence of the Seas providing top-notch training and education to the crew to get ready for next week's Celiac Cruise. Let's set sail toward a healthier future together! 🌟
🧬 To develop celiac disease, you need to have certain genetic markers, specifically the HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8 genes. But don't worry—having these genes doesn't mean you'll definitely get celiac disease, just that you're at a higher risk. Environmental factors, such as gluten exposure, and other genetic factors also play a role in triggering the disease.
The ACeD-it clinical trial is investigating a potential medicine for treating the symptoms of celiac disease after gluten exposure. Your participation could make a difference.
Requirements:
18-70 years old
Biopsy-confirmed celiac disease
On a gluten-free diet for at least the last 12 months
Compensation is available for eligible participants.

Ask the chef: Can you use almond flour as a 1-1 flour replacement in baking?🧑🍳
Yes you can, but you may find that using a blend of gluten-free flours yields a better finished product. Our favorite chef, Vanessa Weisbrod, suggests blending almond flour, buckwheat flour, and coconut flour for a smoother finished product.

Ages 4-8: About 19 grams per day
