Using one of our favorite Japanese Shochu: SG Kome. An incredible rice-based Shochu from the up and coming SG brand that was brewed very slowly at a low temperature to create fruity flavours of ripe pineapple, freshly cut apple and gentle orange peel. It’s a complex and well-balanced expression that has smooth and silky mouthfeel. SG owns some of the world’s best bars in Tokyo. We nitro infuse the Shochu with Roasted Black Sesame Seeds. The second liquor we use is Skyy Vodka. It is clean, crisp aroma with a hint of grain sweetness. The body is medium, and the palate is very clean with some slightly nutty flavors. We infuse the vodka with dianhong black tea from China.

Tea plays a big influence in both Chinese and Japanese culture and it was introduced to Japan from China in the 8th century by Buddhist monks. The early tea drinking virtual in both countries were milling the tea leaves to powder and add water. On Sunday, October 20th, Steep will bring you the experience of tea milling with a master of stone craftsman from Kyoto, Japan and our beloved friend 🤩. We will explore the history of tea milling in China to matcha milling in Japan. The participants will have a chance to try matcha milling yourself! 🍵
-
In this tea workshop, we will explore the history of tea milling and how it evolved into a cornerstone of Japanese tea culture. To pair with the teas, we will have tea pastries to complete your experience. RSVP today on our website. The seats are limited. Secure yours before the event is sold out! 🫖

Time to reveal our exclusive Steep menu for this Saturday! 🔥 We will have black pepper steak sandwich with a pu’er black pepper sauce. Pu’er black pepper sauce was a great hit and used in one of our previous Steep menus. This Saturday, we will be bringing it back in a form of sandwich! 🥪 The other bomb item will be Taiwanese sausage hotdog with fried tea leaves and teanuts! Tea nuts have been an all time favorite, and we have them with the boon boon noodles. The crunchiness of the tea nuts will add another layer of texture to the sweetness of the Taiwanese sausage. 🌭
-
Pair the protein with either a cold brew green tea or a tea mocktail! Wait, we are not done with the all tea centric menu yet. To complete the list, we will have a black tea tiramisu to satisfy your sweet tooth! 🤩

Five years is a big milestone for Steep since day one we opened in 2019. In a blink of eye, five years have passed, and we have outgrown what we had begun. We still remember the time when we tasted and picked out the teas that we serve at Steep. We still remember the enthusiasm and excitement when we decided our first tea menu for Steep. As the last event of the five-year celebration, Sam and Lydia will be going back to the root of Steep, we taste tea and share the passion about tea again. 🍵

NEW SEASONAL DESSERT 🧁 a new cheesecake made by , inspired by the all time favorite Taiwanese pineapple pastry 鳳梨酥. First, slowly cook fresh pineapple into a chunky jam to condense that tropical flavor, the sweet and tangy notes harmoniously blends in with the cheese batter. Topped with a sweet crusty part of pineapple bun for that signature Taiwanese bread/pastry flavor. This cheesecake should remind you of the classic crumbly sweet goodness. Doubling that “Bolo菠蘿” in one go, pineapple is also called 旺來 aka continuous fortune? So maybe it’ll become your lucky slice🍍

It is a perfect dessert to go with a pot of traditional tea or an icy cold tea in a summery day. It can also be the ideal dessert to end your night at Steep after sipping some tea cocktails. Available starting tomorrow at Steep during the day and night. 😋
It is the first week of the month, that means skewers on Wednesday! 🍢🍡 Sizzling hot skewers with an icy cold brew tea or tea cocktail, what can be better than these to enjoy in a summer evening. See you in two nights! 🔥🍹🍻
NEW TEA ALERT 🍵 Starting tomorrow, Oriental Beauty Oolong 東方美人 will be added to the Steep’s curated tea collection. Oriental Beauty is one of the most well-known oolong tea from Taiwan. The bright and amber color tea soup is just like the sunset on the surface of a lake. It is sweet like honeysuckle and smooth with a lingering bitterness at the end note. This particular Oriental Beauty is farm grown in low altitudes (about 400 and under) in New Taipei, a hilly area near by the city, which has a lot of bugs and results in the tea becoming bug bitten. The sweetness is from the bug bite, so yes this tea is not vegan. 🌱
-
Another interesting fact about this oolong is that its leaves are not rolled compared to other taiwanese oolong teas. Name originates from when the tea was brought over to England and when presented to the queen, she called the tea “oriental beauty” after tasting it. It is heavily oxidized, and often mistaken for black tea. ☕️
-
Come sip a pot of this oolong and explore its beauty yourself. It is available for tea ceremonies and loose leaf tea.
