For 44 days Turkey and Azerbaijan launched an attack on Armenia under the cover of a global pandemic and U.S. presidential election. The media remained silent as war crimes were committed; including the bombing of civilian territories, use of Syrian mercenaries, and use of banned white phosphorus munitions that devastated the environment. As a result, 110,000 Armenian refugees have been forced from their indigenous land in Artsakh. Facing erasure and cultural genocide of sacred monuments once again, Armenians need your support. WTP invites you to share your response to this humanitarian tragedy or your experience on American soil of late in our returning series, SOUND UP: A Voice for Armenia. All works selected will be posted and shared from our social linking an Armenian aid non profit. Raise awareness with your art! Incredible artwork by Upload your submissions here:

We know it’s been a challenging few weeks for everyone. We have been reflecting, listening and learning. While Play Club West has always been dedicated to diversity and inclusion, we know we must do better. Every voice and every story must be heard. We must shine a light on injustice because it is our responsibility as artists to do so. We have a long way to go as a country, as a society and as a theater community. But we are hopeful that change is possible.

CALL FOR ACTORS
Play Club West is casting a livestream/Zoom night of readings in honor of SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now). There are six original plays written by female/female identifying playwrights that we are in the process of casting. Actors will have one rehearsal scheduled by their director and one on Saturday, May 30th. The reading itself will take place on Sunday, May 31 at 6 PST. We are looking for a few more actors. We especially are looking for actors in their 20s and 30s who play female roles, but we are open to hearing from anyone interested - if not for this event then perhaps to get on our mailing list for other readings. Email [email protected] if interested. Thank you.
