Broth is kinda unappealing looking but we all live in the now, so I’m using to freeze pressure cooker made for the bones of a pastured chicken from . Amongst this chaos, some days we have the capacity and bandwidth to make something for our future selves, a kindness present in our freezer for a day we need it. I don’t have the capacity to do this all the time, but today I have the privilege of being able to do so. What you can handle today is enough. Today this feels kind.

Pandemic cooking practice- Instant pot black beans success! Fast, cheap, easy, shelf stable. Some other flavor friends for this rice bowl will include lime pickled red onion, cilantro and parsley, and I’m frying an egg to top it all off... doesn’t need to be pretty, but I sure do like having all these colors and textures together. Feeling lucky and grateful for this lunch.
My garden! Wasn’t sure how well this would work. Green onion tops clipped with some scissors makes food taste just a bit happier to me... little ways to connect to pleasure with food right now can help us feel a bit more grounded.
