Project Literacy's mission is to battle the problem of illiteracy in Los Angeles communities with limited financial and social service resources.
Project Literacy is a non-profit community service organization dedicated to improving literacy rates in the Los Angeles region through one-on-one tutoring. The five communities Prolit serves: Watts, Mar Vista, Vernon,Venice and Baldwin Hills, have historically high rates of illiteracy, low socioeconomic status,and reoccurring threats of gang violence.
