Please give the warmest hello for our 2022-23 MSA president, Charlene Huang! Charlene is a senior double majoring in Business Administration and Intelligence & Cyber Operations and minoring in Law & Migration Studies. Here's her summer in her own words:

"My main focus this summer has been interning as a Summer Associate at EY-Parthenon, one of the largest strategy consulting firms in the world. Between social events, my project, and the incredible people in the LA office, all 10 weeks were filled with eye-opening experiences that gave me invaluable insights into the consulting industry.

When I wasn't working, I could (and still can) be found exploring the best parts of Southern California. For instance, I finally made a dent in the list of restaurants I've been meaning to try, went down to San Diego twice, and am recovering from a sunburn caused by being on a beach all the time!

Excited to say hi to everyone in less than a week!! Please reach out at any time to chat about USC, Marshall, or your favorite places to eat :)"

We're just as eager to see you again in the fall, Charlene! ❤️

Next up, we have Lorenzo Aguirre, a rising junior majoring in Business & Real Estate Finance! He's been in Atlanta for the summer, and has this to share about his experience for his MSA spotlight:

"Hey Trojans! This summer I interned for PGIM Real Estate in their Buckhead, Atlanta office working on Debt Originations. I had hands on experience participating in daily pipeline meetings, underwriting deals, and working on ad hoc projects to support my team. We had many social events and toured multifamily and retail assets owned by PGIM and Industrial warehouses our clients needed financing to purchase. I built relationships with my fellow interns and networked with various professionals across Prudential's real estate platform. Overall, an amazing experience to have after sophomore year and recommend anyone interested in real estate to apply to their internship program (apps now open). Please reach out if you have any questions. Fight on!"

Loving how cool your internship sounded, Lorenzo!! ✌🏼✌🏼

Our next MSA feature is Christina Chan, a junior studying Business Administration! Here's what she has to say about her summer so far:

"This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work as an analyst at Hines, one of the world's leading global real estate developer, investor, and managers in their Houston headquarters. As part of the multifamily development and acquisitions team, I got the chance to work on active and pipeline deals, visit under construction sites, tour their newly developed buildings, and meet experienced real estate professionals. Being from Houston, it was inspiring to hear the stories and see firsthand the impact Hines has on the city's downtown skyline and beyond. It has been a summer filled with memorable experiences!"

Fight on, Christina!! ✌🏼✌🏼

USC Marshall is proud to present our New Early Action option for prospective students!

Applying by the Early Action (EA) deadline enables you to plan for college earlier, should you be accepted during this round of application reviews. It also ensures that you will be considered for USC Merit Scholarships. Early Action (EA) is non-binding, non-restrictive, and is not available for majors requiring a portfolio or audition.*

Students choosing to apply under USC’s Early Action (EA) plan will need to submit their application materials earlier in the process but will receive an admission decision (or deferral to Regular Decision) sooner than Regular Decision applicants. We recommend this option for those who have thoroughly researched their college options and have settled on USC as their top choice. We estimate that 20-25 percent of our admission spaces will be granted during the EA round.

Please give a warm welcome for Nityashri Sankaran, another one of our amazing MSAs! Nitya is a sophomore in our World Bachelor in Business, or WBB, program. She says:

"I’m interning with Abbott over the summer in the Diagnostics division as a Business Development Intern. I’m going to be visiting clients, pitching various healthcare products to them, and conduct research on attaining new clients.
To make the most of my summer, I will also be volunteering with Bet Tzedek, a nonprofit legal organization as a Summer legal clerk. So my schedule is healthcare by day and social justice by night!

I’m so excited to back home in sunny Dubai and spend some time with family and friends, gain professional experience, and prepare for my journey to Hong Kong in August."

Best of luck with everything, Nitya! ❤️💛

Merry Christmas!

From third-year World Bachelor in Business student Alex (2023 cohort): “What I love most about WBB is the diversity in experiences: both the people and the places. Each person in our cohort brings something unique to the table, making it easy to push each other to think from different perspectives. I have found a supportive, engaging, and fun group of friends in WBB that I will always cherish. Moving to campuses across three different continents during a pandemic has given me the opportunity to see the world in a time when many people cannot. Spending a full year in each location really gives you a chance to dive deep into the culture of each place—whether that means exploring comedy shows in LA during year 1 of the program, hiking around Hong Kong during year 2, or eating as much pasta as you can here in Milan during year 3.”

From third-year WBB student Apple (2023 cohort): “Regarding the graphic design workshop, it was a risograph printing workshop that was in conjunction with SPRINT 2021, an independent art book fair in Milan. Artists of any kind were encouraged to apply and attend, so I did as well. At the end of the two-day workshop, we created a zine as a tribute to an Italian graphic designer.”

Apply to the World Bachelor Business program by the Dec 1st deadline to have global experiences like Alex and Apple!

From Marshall Student Ambassador Urvi: “Three world-class universities. Three continents. Three degrees. One unparallelled experience." We've all seen the slogan for the World Bachelor in Business program, offered by USC, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Bocconi University, described as an unparalleled experience. It's true that WBB really is the experience of a lifetime, but that's not why I love it. What sets WBB apart from study abroad and exchange programs at countless other universities, is the caliber of the students in each cohort, all of whom I am lucky to surround myself with each and every day. I have moved halfway across the world with my friends and watched them take on every new challenge with a smile. Being surrounded by people who push me to step outside of my comfort zone time and time again is what I am truly grateful for, and I have found that community in WBB. WBB students don't simply move to another country to continue their college experience, we move across the world to complement a college education with real-world experiences that make us more adaptable and aware of the world around us. The following pictures are a glimpse of what the WBB '24 cohort has been up to since moving to Hong Kong a few months ago. Enjoy! If you’re interested in the WBB program for Fall 2022, be sure to apply by the December 1 deadline (see link in bio)!
