Meet Sam Fenstermacher, a Business Management/Leadership major from the class of 2025!
Sam is currently a Human Resources and Recruiting Intern at Safe Place for Youth (S.P.Y), which aligns with his mission to “serve and empower youth in all populations.” When initially applying for this position, Sam shared that he used CPD resources to enhance his resume to highlight his strengths and experiences, specifically targeting his interest in Human Resources and business operations. By utilizing tips and resources from CPD, Sam remained confident throughout the application and interview processes and was able to clearly communicate his values and skills to the employer.
We can’t wait to hear about his professional experiences throughout his time at Safe Place for Youth and to see his future accomplishments!

Meet Gianna Zagarri, a recent LMU grad with a degree in English and a minor in Film, TV, and Media Studies. After graduating in May, she’s finished up a internship with FOX's Scripted Entertainment Department as a Development Intern. She is now stepping into an exciting role at United Talent Agency in January as an Agent Trainee!
Gianna’s journey to UTA has been shaped by the skills and strategies she developed throughout her internships at both small companies and large production firms. Persistence and relationship-building were key in landing this opportunity, and she credits LMU’s Career and Professional Development (CPD) team for their unwavering support. From cover letter revisions to interview prep, CPD helped Gianna navigate her career path every step of the way.

Meet Harley Lampkin (), a LMU senior majoring in Organizational Communication! This summer, Harley was the Asset Protection Executive Intern at Target Corporation, where they focused on creating routines to mitigate theft and identify shortages within the store. By analyzing year-to-date data and comparing it with prior years, Harley helped Target address key operational challenges.
Leveraging tips from the CPD website, Harley navigated the application process, aced the interview, and confidently presented as the best candidate.

CPD is thrilled to share that our Summer Internship Funding program empowered 73 students this summer with up to $2,500 each to pursue unpaid or underpaid summer internships, providing nearly $100,000. These funds enabled students like Parker Alexander '25, a senior in screenwriting and animation, to gain invaluable industry experience at Warner Brothers Animation without the burden of financial stress. Parker shared, "With this being my first summer staying in Los Angeles as an out-of-state student, I was concerned about a plethora of expenses, from housing to commuting. Summer Internship Funding helped alleviate those worries so I could focus my energy on doing a good job at work and making the most of the experience.”

Calling all LMU students interested in the sports industry! As a part of the LMU x LA Rams partnership, the LA Rams have announced a new mentoring program exclusively for LMU students. As a mentee, you'll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with an experienced mentor who will guide you, offer valuable advice, and give insight into the sports industry. If selected, you will also have the chance to go behind the scenes on game day on December 8.
