Thursday ASL Class 8/22/19 GRAMMAR: Lexicalized Signs!
Fingerspelling that looks like a sign is called "lexicalized fingerspelling". Many short (3-5 letters) words that do not have a sign or are easy to spell will become their own signs by fingerspelling or omitting some letters (usually vowels) from the word. They are shown with a # sign before the word.

Thursday ASL Class 6/6/19: Conceptual Translating. A single word, in English, may be signed several different ways in ASL. We worked on thinking about the concept behind the word to correctly translate its meaning. Feel free to message us with any questions!
ASL Thursday Class 5/30/19: Signing Clearly
