At your comprehensive consultation, the doctors will provide a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan that may include braces or aligners.

For our braces patients, we offer three options to fit your lifestyle:

1. Traditional (Metal)
2. Lingual (Behind the Teeth)
3. Ceramic (Clear)

All of our bracket systems are self-ligating. This means that they have a built in mecanism to hold the archwire in place. Because we don't rely on elastic ties to keep the wire in, our wires work more effectively for longer periods of time which gives our patients the ability to come in less often for adjustments.

Get to meet Lauren, our Scheduling Coordinator! Lauren is always ready up front to great you with a sunny smile or get you scheduled for you next appointment. We offer both early morning and late evening appointments to accommodate the busiest of schedules. Lauren comes to us fresh from the Midwest, she grew up in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles last year to come and work for our team! Check out Ella’s transformation story! Ella came to us with severe crowding, narrow upper and lower arches and her bite was off. We gave Ella an aesthetically pleasing broad smile and corrected her bite so that her teeth fit together comfortably and properly! Our thorough and comprehensive approach ensures that our patients’ smiles and bites stay stable and healthy!

Did you know that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child’s first visit to the Orthodontist be by 7 years old? At this time, we are able to look at the trajectory of growth and development and take interceptive measures as needed. Seeing an orthodontist at an earlier age can prevent the need for more drastic treatments needed in a patient’s teens or adulthood!

We love working with talented cosmetic dentists to create a stellar smile! Lyle shared his plan of wanting to get his broken down teeth restored. His dentist needed more space to be able to restore his teeth with esthetic crowns. Once we got his braces on, we worked closely with Lyle’s dentist to create the exact amount of space needed in the upper and lower arch to get Lyle to a beautiful and healthy smile all while aligning his teeth and giving him a broader smile! After we completed orthodontic treatment, he got his crowns completed and came back to us for a new retainer to make sure to keep his smile healthy for years to come!

Ever wonder what it’s like to get your braces on? When you come in for your braces appointment, we’ll first prep and isolate your teeth to make sure the brackets have a good surface to stick on to. Once you’re ready, Dr. Hakim or Dr. Chantal will place each bracket and customize the position to each tooth position based on how rotated the tooth is, where the root is and other factors. Next, we start with a light wire to get the straightening process started! Most patients notice big changes in the first couple of months of treatment as teeth begin to align quite rapidly!

Check out Pheobe’s Non-Surgical Transformation Story! Pheobe came to the OrthoSpaceship when she was 17 years old after having seen several other orthodontists and oral surgeons who recommended Jaw Surgery for her underbite and a separate surgery to bring in her permanent left canine (she had retained a baby tooth). We were able to treat Pheobe’s underbite, crowding and impacted canine without jaw surgery!

Jaw Surgery (or Orthognathic Surgery) is a great and useful option for many cases but Pheobe was adamant that she did not want to undergo the procedures. We are so excited when we have the opportunity to provide exceptional care while accommodating our patient’s wants and needs!

Dr. F. Isaac Hakim is an orthodontist who has been practicing orthodontics in Los Angeles, California since 1978. Dr. Hakim is graduate of the Roth Williams Center for Functional Occlusion.
