Roast beef is a classic holiday meal that is perfect for Christmas! It is a flavorful and tender cut of meat that is roasted to perfection in the oven. Here is a recipe for roast beef: π₯©
Ingredients:
4-5 pound beef roast (such as sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped
1/4 cup red wine (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F.
2. Season the roast generously with salt and black pepper.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add the roast to the pan and sear on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
4. Remove the roast from the pan and place it in a roasting pan. Rub the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and chopped thyme all over the roast. If using, pour the red wine over the roast.
5. Roast the beef in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135Β°F for medium-rare doneness.
6. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This will allow the juices to redistribute and make the roast more tender.
7. Slice the roast against the grain into thin slices and serve hot, with your choice of accompaniments. Enjoy!
Note: You can adjust the cooking time in the recipe based on the size and thickness of the roast and your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the roast to ensure it is cooked to your liking. You can also add vegetables, such as carrots, potatoes, and onions, to the roasting pan to create a complete meal.
