The Rockets are Champions, babyyyyy!!! 🏆🥇🥳🍾

Our squad battled it out to defend our Muni League title in the valley this morning, facing off against the top-seeded team we’d yet to beat this season. But riding the momentum from our last few games and peaking at the perfect time, we were confident we could come away with the win.

netted our first of the game early, making a cunning run into space behind our opponent’s backline where found her with a through-ball. Allie doubled our lead early in the second half when Charlotte broke through the backline and found on a pull back. After Jessie’s shot deflected out to Allie at the edge of the box, she willed the ball over the line to make it 2-0 — hey, a goal’s a goal!

And then, went into absolute Turbo Mode when a long ball from .rickerson found her on the left flank. She flicked the ball over her defender, then ran around her and left her in the dust. She drove inside through on goal, and slotted the ball past the keeper! Such a big time play in a big time moment! 😤💪🏃🏽‍♀️💨

We defended valiantly throughout the game, shutting down some top-tier attackers and playing smart soccer as we protected our lead. We walked away with a big 3-1 dub, securing the Muni League title for the second season in a row! Thank you to all of our fans who came out to cheer us on today and all season long! The Rockets are going to the Championship! 🎉🚀🏆 After a tenacious team-wide performance today, our squad punched their ticket to next week’s Muni League final with a big 1-0 win!

Despite creating chance after chance throughout the game, it took us late into the second half to finally put the ball in the back of the net. Game MVP stepped up to take a free kick from deep, and perfectly placed her shot over the keeper’s outstretched arms 🎯 Meanwhile also earned MVP honors, holding it down in the mid and styfling our opponent’s attack 🙅‍♀️ Everyone worked their butts off across the park for the full 90, securing that all-important clean sheet and getting the job done in a high stakes game!

We will now defend our title in the championship match next weekend, looking to finish off a great season with no less than what we deserve: a gold medal! See you there! 🏅

Here’s to our 7s Rockets who wrapped up their mini league season last night, fighting til the bitter end! Our goal on the night came from left back who made a dangerous run forward and was found by on a through-ball. After her initial shot was blocked by the keeper, the ever speedy Ev was quick to react to the rebound and drilled it in!💥

There’s a lot to build upon from this to next season, and we’re pumped to get back to it after some retooling! Onward and upward! 🚀🚀🚀

6 goals, 6 goal scorers 😮‍💨 all in a day’s work for our 11s Rockets! Our high-flying squad put on a goddam show in The Valley this morning, with the goals coming fast and furious throughout the full 90 😤

got us off the mark with a pin-point far post finish early into the game, followed by a tidy strike after a high-press. Then the one and only .r said, “hold my beer,” and chipped our opponent’s keeper from way out, off of a heads-up interception from .ericson in the mid! 💥

We doubled that scoreline in the second half, with finishing off a delicious cross, getting the decisive touch on a scuffle in the box following a corner, and capping off the day with a perfectly placed long range floater that dipped under the crossbar and just beyond the keeper’s fingers 💯🚀🧨

And with that, our Rockets are poised for play offs, feeling the momentum and excited to defend our title!

Two thumbs way up after our 7s Rockets secured their spot in the semi finals with a 1-0 win on Monday night! Our goal came by way of none other than our resident game-changer and MVP on the night, !

After collected the ball just inside our opponent’s half on a fast-break, she slotted a deft through-ball into Julie’s path for them to run onto and ping perfectly into the far post side netting 🎯

And that’s the power of pride! The Eclipse proudly kicked off June with a big win. The team strutted their stuff to a 7-0 win. They scored midway through the first half and could not be stopped after that. bagged a 👒🧢🎩 trick with 1 goal in the first half and 2 in the second half. And another notable performance by .k who scored 2 goals and got 2 assists. and got a goal each as well! It was a great effort from the team all around a great way to kick off 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ month!!!

Our 11s Rockets kicked off Pride in style this morning with our fellow q***r LA team, The Bad News Deers! 🏳️‍🌈🦌 We enjoyed some great soccer and even better vibes 🥰 Thanks for a fun game, Deers!

Today also marked the last game for one of our most beloved OG Rockets, the inimitable ❤️ Serina scored a farewell brace, including a long range strike just out of the keeper’s reach. Serina is now embarking upon her next adventure abroad in Belgium, leaving an indelible mark on our women’s/non-binary program and club at large. From The Valley to Sydney to Vegas and back again, Serina has been an incredible player, teammate, and person whom we will miss immensely. But no matter where life takes her, Serina will forever and always be a WHSC Rocket 🚀💕

Our 7s Rockets were on the losing end of a tough game last night, but game MVP still gave us plenty to smile about! Meg was dynamic on both sides of the ball across the park, and her work ethic was pivotal in creating one of our two goals on the night!

The end result left something to be desired, but we’ll regroup and come back swinging after the Memorial Day break ☺️

Fusion storm past Huracán 8-0 on a balmy day in Boyle heights. In his last match with the team, captain, game co-mvp and newly graduated got us off the mark with a fine free kick, his first goal for Fusion! Despite early dominance, WHSC were only up 2-0 at the half, prompting Ben to deliver a rousing team talk to encourage Fusion to put the game out of reach after the break. The squad followed the doctor’s orders with 6 second half goals, including co-mvp scoring an outlandish Olimpico directly from a corner kick. With this latest flurry of goals, Fusion have now had 11 different players score this season, which is indicative of the teams strength all through the roster. On to the next one !

Eclipse remains unbeaten through 7 games. The top two teams in the division went head-to-head and the game ended in dramatic fashion. The Eclipse dominated possession, passing around the other team for most of the first half. got us on the board first 1-0. But a fluke error allowed the other team to get a goal in before half time - with the score being 1-1 at the break. And, again the second half, the Eclipse dominated possession, just couldn’t get the ball into the back of the net. The other team scored late into the second half - taking the lead 2-1. But, with only a few minutes left in the game, our offensive pressure was too much as the other team conceited a handball in their own box, allowing .k to place a cool, calm PK. The game ended with a 2-2 draw.

Our 11s Rockets faced off against a fierce foe in the Cougars today in the Valley, coming up short on the scoresheet but proud of our performance! Game MVPs and put in solid defensive shifts respectively, winning aerial duels and snuffing out the Cougars’ forays forward.

Not the result we wanted but heartened by our team-wide effort! 🚀🚀

Our 7s Rockets continued their hot streak last night with an impressive team-wide performance that culminated in a 1-0 win!

Our contemplative game MVP (whose career as a knee model took yet another hit last night) scored the game’s only goal, picking off a pass into the mid from our opponent’s backline, and then calmly slotting the ball beyond the keeper.

Centerback kept our defense organized and in control throughout the game, as we expertly tracked runners and heightened our team communication across the park. That’s another important dub for our squad in a neck-and-neck league that’s still anyone’s for the taking!

Our 11s Rockets put in *~the work~* this morning in the Valley heat, securing a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from newcomer and clear game MVP, !💥💥

It was all Rockets from the first whistle, but we failed to finish any of our many chances up until midway through the second half when Allie broke the deadlock with her glorious left foot. After left back .rickerson won a tenacious header at the mid, Allie collected the ball at the edge of the box and rifled it into the upright 😮‍💨 She then doubled our lead a few minutes later, this time with her right foot from the other side of the box! That, my friends, is called versatility.

WHSC Eclipse makes its debut appearance in the Summer Season Opener in the Santa Monica 7v7 Thursday night league by bringing home its first win of 8-2! with his crisp skills opened up the lead, and followed up with a second goal! Then, and each getting a hat trick, with major power shots to the back of the net! The communication and fundamentals were on point last night!

Our 7s Rockets squad took another win this past Monday night 🥳 They went up early in the first half after ripped a shot that hit off of right into the back of the net. They held steady and patiently worked the ball up the field many times. Shortly after, was able to beat their back line again and slot one into the corner of the goal. The back line and shut them down the second half and secured the 2-0 win. Another great game for this team 🚀

No one other than our very own with her styling cut, moving through the opponent’s defenders and taking a power shot, putting the ball away in the top left corner and giving the Suns their 1-0 lead in the game! We LOVE to see it!

In a thrilling and closely contested match, the Fusion emerged victorious with a 3-2 win over their long-time rivals Real Sociedad, claiming the first place spot in the league. The game was intense from start to finish, with both teams displaying skill and determination. The Fusion took an early lead and managed to hold off a late surge from Real Sociedad to secure the crucial victory. The win not only solidified their position at the top of the league standings but also showcased the Fusion’s ability to rise to the occasion and perform under pressure.

Eclipse continued their undefeated season yesterday with a solid 2-0 win! With a sneaky through ball from , our resident leftie put away a nicely composed one touch to the back of the net; taking us into halftime with the lead. Our second goal came early in the second half with a beautiful outside cross on the ground from Tommy and a cannon of a finish from to the top of the net! Another day, another slay 💅

The Rockets fought a hard battle yesterday vs the first place team, Villa Bey! After going into the second half 0-0, they walked away with a 1-0 win. sent a long ball over their defense., while sprinted onto the ball leaving the defender on her back behind. She kept her cool alone up top, cut the goalie and slotted it right into the goal. The Rockets defense held strong in the back against a fast attack and heavy pressure. With some great saves by who came out to challenge balls the at top of box. A great say to spend our Saturday ⚽️🚀

Our Rockets 7s fought to a cagey 0-0 tie last night, with our offensive and defensive MVPs and lifting us up with their tenacious work across the park all game long.

As always, came up big in goal with some massive saves to preserve our clean sheet on the night and our undefeated form over the last 5 games 😤

The Eclipse left no crumbs this week with their 8-0 win. The game had several bouts of beautiful tiki taka soccer, patient ball movement, and a strong back line. Our 8 goals were split between , , , , and . It’s giving teamwork makes the dream work.

Things have been looking up 🥁😁 for our 7s Rockets lately, who secured their third win in a row last night with a decisive 3-0 dub!

got us cooking in the first half with a signature leftie laser into the bottom right corner!💥Then doubled our lead a few minutes later, after found her on the break with a perfectly weighted pass beyond the backline. Charlotte’s first attempt on goal was blocked by the keeper, but she was alert to the bouncing rebound and headed the bobbling ball on home. 🏠

Our third came on the last touch of the game, after Charlotte picked off a pass coming in the mid, and once again willed the ball over the line after an initial block from the keeper.

Shoutout to our whole squad for putting in a solid shift despite some tired legs after a tough weekend of games in Vegas!

After a Fortnight the Eclipse took a 5-3 win! kicked off the scoring by smashing it into the roof in the first few minutes, and he complimented that with a clever run early in the 2nd. The goals kept coming with one from and two from . Shoutout to who managed two beautiful assists all the way from center back. These boys are killing it!

How our Rockets 7s slept last night after a grueling 1-0 win over the Villa Villains! Our unequivocal game MVP was keeper , who put on a goddam show (especially in the pressure cooker of the second half) to keep us in the game. We’re talking kick-saves, we’Re talking punches clear, we’re talking tips over the bar— she did it all! Aided by our heroic backline featuring , , and , our squad preserved our second consecutive clean sheet.

Meanwhile our attack persisted throughout the game to find a way through, and finally did so with just 2 minutes remaining on the clock— for the second week in a row! After a scuffle at our goal mouth, collected the ball at the edge of our box and found out wide on the break. Charlotte streamed down the line, clocking bringing up the rear in the center of the park. She pinged the ball in, and Meg met with moment with a perfect first touch and strike that rippled the back of the net.

With that, our ascending 7s Rockets have won 2 on the bounce and aren’t looking back!
