Hmmm, I missed this one. I try to post articles on the Apple Pan when I see them, but life does get in the way sometimes.
I see that Apple Pan now has an Impossible Beef version!? Ok - cool!
Well, I am very glad that so many people have followed this page. As I have explained before, I am not the owner, but a loyal fan, whose dad ran a hardware store down the street beginning in the 1970's. My dad would send me out for burger for a special treat at lunchtime when we could. Running Ayres Hardware was a labor of love for my dad and usually we made sandwiches at home or from the Mert's meat market next door. I hope some folks here remember my dad. He died in 2000 and loved and supported the stores on Pico with great pride and all of us treasured our meals at the Apple Pan. Our whole family ate there beginning before I was born! My older brother's favorite thing was the banana cream pie. He died far too young, and I can hardly think of that pie without tearing up.
I am rather insulted that this article says that the Apple Pan does not have any social media. What are we? Chopped liver? Hurmpf! Btw, I had tried to reach out to the owners when the bought the place to see if they wanted to take over this page, but I received no reply. But that's ok. If anyone wants to post anything, please do. I live pretty far away now and it has, literally, been decades since I've had a good burger because I just don't get to Los Angeles anymore. Someday maybe someone will send me a pie?? Ahhh, well, hope springs eternal Just wanted to say hi to all you fans and please keep sharing your happy experiences.

Ok, so this happened.... Just a reminder that this page is maintained by a loving fan, who grew up in the neighborhood and whose dad ran a store down the street for 30 years. I truly hope that the new owners find lots of joy in maintaining this amazing place, don't change any recipes and keep making amazing pies. (Oh, and if they want to send me a burger, that would be awesome, too, as I now live too far away. ) https://laist.com/2019/02/11/apple_pan_has_been_sold_new_owners.php?fbclid=IwAR0oTEXyx7oIWGw48ybTXC233Da4lAAAM8ubJnxPt4GkGMDsFbbU7IJRuvk

Hi Folks!! If you want pies, or need information about the Apple Pan, such as whether they deliver, please do not contact this page. Go ahead and call the restaurant for information. This is not an official Apple Pan page! Just a site started by a loyal fan. Enjoy! Eat more PIE!
So, which pie is your favorite?
Hmmmmm, time for a hickory burger? Hi folks! I just want to let you know how much I enjoy your comments and love for this place. I want to let you in on a little secret, though. This page is not "official", so to speak. I grew up in West L.A. and the Apple Pan was one of our family's favorite places. My dad ran a business down the street from 1972 to 2001 (until he passed away). On a lark, I just decided to start this page. It is nice to share our past and present recollections of this little piece of all of our lives. I am so thankful that the owners have kept the traditions alive. Keep the posts coming - I really enjoy reading them and hope the owners and employees do, too!
