It's ! Meet Kelcey and Braeden, who adopted Drew. 💕

"Drew is our soul-dog. Despite growing up in a lab, he has been nothing but trusting and sweet to every person, dog, cat, and even bunny he has met. There are moments we can see glimpses of what he has gone through (nightmares or if he needs to go to the vet). We can see all these patterns link back to the life he had in the lab. However, he is so brave, and finds so much joy in every day. He loves his daily walks by the lake we live next to, going for adventures, and snuggling. We could not be more thankful for the constant cuddles and companionship.

We could not recommend Beagle Freedom Project more for adopting an animal. Every step of the way, they were here to support us and Drew as we grew into the little fur family we are now. They were here for questions about how to make him comfortable, and made us feel so confident. We have had him over 6 months, and he is the best dog we could have ever dreamed of having! We have become so passionate about advocating against animal testing, and love to use his story to inspire others."

LIBERATION! ✊🐾

Last week, we were able to liberate a group of beagles from an animal testing laboratory in California. Pictured is Bisous, who spent his entire life in a cage while being used for horrific tests. He and his beagle friends are missing patches of fur and have small wounds throughout their bodies. We can only imagine what Bisous and his pals have gone through. 💔

Watching these beagles walk on grass for the first time was nothing short of a miracle. They ran gleefully, feeling the grass under their paws and the wind in their fur for the very first time. This is why we do what we do. This is what Beagle Freedom Project is all about.

🇺🇸 FOURTH OF JULY SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR PUP 🇺🇸

On the fourth, as fireworks light up the sky and make loud sounds, your poor pup may struggle with stress and anxiety. Here are some tips from the BFP Rescue team to keep your pup safe and happy on Independence Day.

1) Make sure your pup has a tracking device on his/her collar such as an Apple Air Tag. Include your phone number on the collar as well. Many pups escape their homes on the 4th of July nationwide.

2) Create a "safe space" for your pup. Include a soft bed, their favorite toys, and some calming music. Leave the lights low and, if you can, sit with them to keep them company.

3) Keep your dog INDOORS! Walks and exercise are important, but it's much safer to keep your baby inside while fireworks are booming.

4) Make sure your pup's microchip is up-to-date with your current information so you can be contacted if your baby gets lost!

5) And of course, give them lots of extra love 💕

This week, we had two spectacular adoptions. Mickey and Polly both found their forever families. Mickey spent his life being tested on, and Polly is one of the eight puppies abandoned in our trash pile at Freedom Fields. We are so thrilled that after a difficult start to life, both of these sweet souls will be cherished and loved forever. We love you, Mickey and Polly! This is the start of the rest of your lives. 🐾
