What we've got for you today:
"Disrupt" - A non-binary PhD student grappling with schizophrenia leads a high-stakes fight against an unethical university while battling their own inner demons and navigating a chaotic love life. (Content Warning: Discussion of su***de.)
"When I Was Little" - A historic preservationist must contend with her painful past to save her childhood home from being demolished and prevent its residents from becoming houseless.
"Cloudmakers" - What happens to a found family when the person holding them together passes away? What if your grief showed up to help you through the first night? Follow a group of young qu**rs as they process a profound and unexpected loss. (Content Warning: Grief, Loss, Self-harm, Situationships, Drugs, and Alcohol.)
"Waheda at the End" - A 30-minute, surrealist dark comedy about a ragtag crew's mission to heal their city when mental illness (and reactive grandmother magic!) turns everyone into household objects. (Content warnings: s*icidal ideation, s*icidal attempt (reference), mental illness, OCD, anxiety, depression, family tension, flashbacks hinting towards accidental h*rm of others.)

"The Roundtable" - No synopsis available; start your day off with a surprise! (Content warning: Cursing, discussion of s*x.)
"Cravings" - When a stalwart trans woman and her wife run out of food in a zombie-infested wasteland, they venture to the grocery store, where a fight for their lives results in a surprising addition to their family. (Content warning: Graphic descriptions of blood, death and violence; pregnancy/fertility; breastfeeding.)
"Just, Girls" - In a rapid-fire dark comedy, four jaded young q***r women cope with their troubles by satirizing their jobs, their partners, their lifestyles, and most importantly, each other. (Content warning: Depression, explicit language, s*x.)
"Black Sheep" - When a young transwoman estranged from her family goes to her late grandmother's funeral, she must face her mother and the family secrets that surround the elders of her family. (Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault (mentioned, but not shown), In**st (mentioned, but not shown), Transphobia.)
"Five and a Half Dads" - This year Kayla turns 11, and someone's changed all the rules. Everyone at her middle school is acting weird now, and at home, her five highly-underqualified dads have moved in to care for her (or ruin her life). (Content warning: Death of a mother, eye injury.)

"Hey Val" - When a young nonbinary person returns to the bedroom of their dead partner, they must confront their grief, along with the ghost of their lover. (Content Warning: Su***de.)
"Testosterone Quest" - When Benjamin tries to start testosterone, he encounters a number of unnecessary difficulties. (Content Warning: Intense misgendering & sword fighting (violence).)
"Lola" - In this dramedy pilot, Haliya is confronted by the ghost of her Lola to address deep-seated issues she's been running from for most of her life. (Content Warning: Alcoholism.)
"I Hate You, T. Monroe" - On the day of college softball tryouts, a high-school athlete is accidentally locked in a classroom with her ex-best-friend. They argue while locked in and the fight escalates as they re-live their falling out. (Trigger Warning: Drug use, violence (physical and verbal).)
"Chosen Families" - When a broke, self-absorbed millennial gets pregnant in 2016 Bushwick, she must decide whether to place the baby for adoption. As she turns for help to the q***r artsy friend group she's alienated with her reckless behavior, she discovers that family is sometimes where you least expect it. (This script contains: Adoption trauma, unplanned pregnancy, mentions of su***de, Prince's death, death of a pet, theft of a pet, religious fanaticism, frank discussion of abortion, anaphylactic shock, poverty, unethical non-monogamy, bad but consensual s*x, mentions of overdosing, ankle injuries, dumpster diving, 2016.)

TGI2S Fest is Re-opening submissions for just ONE week to NON-WHITE TGI2S folks. NEW DEADLINE: August 9th!
The response to our original submission period was AMAZING but overwhelmingly White, especially in the Writing Category. We are opening submissions today through Friday August 9th.
The other categories, director & actor, are more balanced but we are opening up All categories Please share this information with anyone you think might want to share their work.
‘TGI2S Fest, a gender expansive reading festival for trans, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, inters*x, and Two-Spirit creatives, has opened submissions for writers, actors, and directors. All opportunities are paid. Writers can be located outside of Los Angeles.
TGI2S Fest is produced by ActNOW, an all-LGBTQIA+ acting and creative arts studio, and Sacred Fools Theater Company. Proceeds benefit The Q***r 26, a media arts non-profit organization supporting QTBIPOC creatives.’

Meet the rest of the TGI2S Fest committee members!
Lalo-Félix Caldera (he/him/his or ya/ya/yas) ( on Instagram) is a multiracial, multi-spirited, multi-media Nahua Native artist residing in the heart of Hollywood like his father before him. Whether working as a drag performer, poet, crafter, actor, or visual artist, Lalo is always focused on building interwoven communities of justice-minded individuals who believe in a more loving world.
Lalo was born in Colorado, and blends yas South-Western upbringing and Californian roots into a unique perspective informed by race, culture, family, faith, and q***rness. Art and activism are always intertwined for ya. His current work largely revolves around on building disability-celebratory spaces so that all those drawn to the arts can feel fully empowered to create.
Natalie Nicole Dressel ( on Instagram) is a transgender actress/writer currently living in North Hollywood, CA. In 2019, she attained her MFA in writing for the Stage and Screen from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, and in 2013 she earned her BFA in Theater from Michigan State University. Her play There is Evil in This House was a 2019 O’Neill NPC finalist and the winner of Best Ensemble at SheLA this past July. She has 10+ years of stand up comedy exp and in 2012 was named “Funniest Mouth of the South” in Chattanooga, TN. She’s worked on two projects that are currently available on HBOMAX (Veneno, The Lady and The Dale) and in 2021, she is the recipient of an artist grant from West Hollywood and put up an exhibition of her work in 2022. Her play “Granny, or How to Forgive When You Can’t Forget: A Play in Poems” was turned into an audioplay by Antaeus Theatre, which is available now wherever you find your podcasts.
Camille Ora-Nicole (she/they) ( on Instagram) is a Writer, Producer, and Artist hailing from West Rancho Dominguez, now residing in Long Beach, CA. She founded the nonprofit The Q***r 26 ***r26 as a platform for q***r creatives of color to find each other, learn from each other, and create together.
Camille’s work is multidisciplinary - utilizing the best medium for the project at hand. The majority of their work addresses themes of belonging, love, and growth as it pertains to the physical places we find ourselves in through life. Camille is also a heritage conservationist interested in intangible heritage and conservation themes in media and art. Their debut book of poetry “Macro Micro Atomic” is available now on Amazon, and their music can be found on all streaming platforms.
