Thank you Dad for your love of all things Pizza. How much you cared about the water, flour, the crispy crust, using cornmeal instead of flour. You never compromised on quality no matter what. You are the OG. You are the legend. The history I’m so grateful to have my drive and love for the actual food from you. It’s not about some flashy brand for you it never was. It was just about the pizza. Others have come in and always taken from you and thought they could do it better. But so many of them have come and are now gone in the 35 years you’ve been in business. I’m proud what you have done and all of us kids are happy to carry on the legacy in whatever way we end up. With grace and peace and just an honest love for pizza, pasta, the gravy and the people who love it. The 4 locations that are still family owned are hands down the best pizza in all of the west coast. We ship the flour from Italy and the water too. Try out any of these locations and send me your pics I’d love to see you enjoy it as my grandmother loved to watch each bite of her food be enjoyed by her kids and as my father loves to watch all of us enjoy. My awesome dad is still hanging at the shops and chatting with all the customers. It was never a job, it’s always been his favorite place to be. I honestly had no idea how beautiful and magical Utah is. and I just went for work and turned it into a trip I will never forget. I feel so lucky and grateful for my time on this incredible planet and now that I get to share it with my best friend it’s even more magical. Thank you Greg for all the planning and efforts you made to get us in touch with the outdoors. Thank you for the most beautiful hike I’ve ever been on in my life.

A common question I get at my demos is “Why is it called Pizza Girl when it’s pasta sauce?” So here we go. When I was 5 years old I lost my mother. My dad became a working single father and I often had to go with him to his catering gigs because we didn’t have a sitter that night and he was trying to make ends meet. Sometimes it was fun and sometimes I just wanted to be home watching TV rather than being out late working on a pizza truck. My dad absolutely did the best he could with the hand he was dealt. Now that I myself became a single mom the respect I have for my dad is incredibly high. Raising 4 little girls all while building his start up D’Amores Pizza!!! Not many people could handle that. Now I’m extremely grateful for the experience. Eventually, everywhere I went including high school people would refer to me as the Pizza Girl. I’d walk into a room and often hear hollering such as “Hey Pizza Girl where’s the pizza at?” To be honest as a teenager I hated it. I wanted nothing to do with Pizza. But as I got older I realized you can’t run from your destiny. My pasta sauce company is called Pizza Girl because I am the Pizza Girl. These incredible sauces are only the beginning. I knew with my current resources and funding I’d need to start small, make an incredible product and show the CPG world what I’m bringing to the dinner table. Pizza Girl will grow and will eventually be the umbrella for many different sauces, frozen pizzas, spices, olive oils, and so many innovative ideas we’ve been working on. But timing is everything. So stay tuned cause Pizza Girl will be in many different departments across the grocery stores and then some. Here’s to all the little Pizza Girls out there working with their parents and learning how to work hard young. That work ethic instilled in you is priceless.
